The new ultraeXtreme shatters the previous limitations
o MALDI mass spectrometry. Ultra ast, yet exible with
high perormance, the ultraeXtreme MALDI TOF/TOF
provides researchers with the most potent instrument or
a variety o applications.
The ultraeXtreme boasts a number o technology
breakthroughs to deliver a host o benefts to researchers
including:
Unmatched Analytical Speed with true One kilohertz
laser and system electronics in MS and MS/MSmodes
Outstanding Molecular Identifcation with Sub ppm
Mass Accuracy and up to 40,000 (FWHH) Resolution
Expanded protein/peptide identifcation capabilities
with wider mass range analysis capabilities
Exceptional Molecular Imaging with the 10 micron
laser ocus resolution, non-destructive Smartbeam II
laser
Minimized maintenance with the Perpetual sel
cleaning Ion Source that cleans the instrument source
in minutes
Optimized Sotware packages or many Applications
The ultraeXtreme truly represents a leap orward in
MALDI technology and the perormance o the system
ar surpasses the capabilities o earlier generation
instrumentation. The ultraeXtreme truly redefnes what is
possible with MALDI Mass Spectrometry.

As shown in the current study, the ultraleXtreme repre-
sents a signiicant advance in capabilities or a MALDI
type Mass Spectrometer compared to earlier generation
instrumentation or analysis o lipids. The ultraleXtreme is
capable o readily analyzing a number o lipids and lipid likemolecules including atty acids, phospholipids, phosphoti-
dyl inositol, gangliosides, etc. Bruker Daltonics has deve-
loped a combination o hardware and sotware tools or
easy analysis o lipids as analyzed by TLC. The use o the
ultraleXtreme and its powerul analytical capabilities oers
researchers an exciting new level o capabilities or the in
vitro and in vivo analysis o lipids and related compounds.
