3. Qualifications

A. Qualifications for undergraduate applicants

- Native-born foreigner whose parents are native-born foreigners

(students/parents who became foreigners after being born are not included)

- One recommendation letter

※ Recommendation letter from teacher, principal or head of an educational institution.

B. Qualifications for undergraduate admissions

[Reference 2] Certificate of Language Proficiency

○ The original Certificate of Language Proficiency should be submitted by 18:00 3 July. 2020. ○ Unless you submit a TOEFL transcript, you should write your User Name and Password for the ETS website (https://toefl-registration.ets.org/TOEFLWeb/) on the top, right-hand side of your cover letter.

[Reference 3] Certificate of Financial Support

○ A bank deposit(or statements) certificate in the name of applicant or parents’ name verifying USD $18,000 or more should be submitted by 15 July. 2020 - Valid until the date indicated on the document, but we can only accept a document that has

been issued within the past 30 days - Scholarship students : Certificate of PNU scholarship can be accepted instead.

6. Selection Method ※to be announced (by interviewers in Mongolia)

A. Interview (in English) - Time: approx. 10 minutes per person. - Evaluation for academic performance · High school academic performance and background (i.g. subjects with GPA in High school ) · Language proficiency – English and Korean (International English Certificate or TOPIK) ※Candidates who have english proficiency may be added for extra points with Korean

Language Proficiency · Reference materials that applicant submitted (i.g. SAT, Awards, Olympiad Medals) - knowledge and study attitudes (including willingness to study major and Korean language) - Personal Statement & Study Plan. ※ Note: Applicants must present a valid ID card/passport at interview. If the applicant is caught using

a substitute or fake documents or cheating during the interview, admission will be cancelled. B. Exam (Mathematics Test in English): multiple-choice including short-answer questions - Number of questions: approx. 10 - Exam time: approx. 1 hour

7. Application Fee: USD $60 ※Application fee will be not refunded

A. Applicant should submit USD $60 in cash on the date of interview & Exam in Kazakhstan.

8. Announcement of Successful Candidates and Registration

A. Announcement of successful candidates - Time: 4 p.m., 9 July, 2020 (to be announced). - Place: PNU Homepage (http://go.pusan.ac.kr) and by e-mail notice. - Other ○ Successful candidates must print out the acceptance letter, read the admission notice from

the homepage, and comply with all PNU requirements to avoid admission cancellation. ○ Students admitted to PNU with the special scholarship (Excellent International Student

Scholarship) who decide not to enter the university should notify PNU International ([email protected]) by 10 July, 2020.

○ Non-scholarship students must pay tuition fees within the prescribed period and submit a Proof of Financial Capability document by 15 July, 2020.

B. Registration - Successful candidates (non-scholarship students) should pay admission and tuition fees by the due

date or their admissions will be cancelled.

9. Important Notes

A. Applicants who were not interviewed or who did not take the exam will not be admitted.

B. Submitted documents will not be returned and application fees will not be refunded. The

applicant’s department and major cannot be changed.

C. During the application and admission periods, all information—including the announcement of

successful candidates—will be listed on the website and through personal e-mail.

D. Applicants will be held responsible for failure to submit required documents, errors or omissions

in documents, failure to fulfill requirements indicated in the deadlines, listing of false addresses,

missed deadlines, failure to check the list of successful candidates, and failure to execute

procedures necessary to enter the country may be subject to penalties, such as cancellation of

admission.

E. If the applicant gains admission illegally, such as through forgery or alteration of documents or

translation errors of documents, and such fact is found while at school or after graduation,

admission will be cancelled and/or all academic records will be erased even if the applicant

already has graduated.

F. Applicants who have Korean names should submit evidence of their Korean name; ex.) high school

transcript or Certificate of High School Graduation, official documents in Korea (marriage report,

notification of Korean nationalization) ※Name in Korean from notarized documents shall be not

accepted.

G. Certificates of Admission will be sent to the address that the applicant filled in on the application

form via express mail.

H. Successful candidates should take the Certificate of Admission letter from the admissions team of

PNU International for issuing their student visa, then apply for the visa at the Embassy of

Republic of Korea in Mongolia.

I. Successful candidates have to check the ‘Notes to Successful Applicants.’ Please follow the

directions for visa issuance, dormitory residency, medical insurance, airport pickup, courses

registration and payment of fees. The notes to successful applicants will be available on the

website of PNU Admissions (http://go.pusan.ac.kr) or PNU International(http://international.pusan.ac.kr)

J. All international students are required to obtain a medical insurance policy designated by Pusan

National University against injuries or sickness, and the insurance compensation limits must be a

minimum of USD $100,000. Uninsured, the applicant cannot apply for a dormitory room

assignment and course enrollment will be rejected. (Regarding Int’l student Insurance, it will be

announced via separated mail.)

K. For any other information not referenced in this guideline, all processing of admissions follows the

regulations of Pusan Nation University. For more information in detail, please refer to the website

of PNU Admissions or contact the admissions team of PNU International.

L. After admission, in case of not achieving the credits for graduation, you might not graduate

within 8 semesters (Architecture major : 10 semester)

Platinum Full tuition waiver for entire academic year (Only with GPA above 3.5 for every semester)

Gold Full tuition waiver for 2 years (Only with GPA above 3.0 for every semester) ※From 3rd grade at PNU, you may receive the scholarships below

Silver Full Tuition waiver for 1 YEAR (Only with GPA above 3.0 for every semester) ※From 2nd grade at PNU, you may receive the scholarships below

※ Initial settlement grant(Subsidy) : KRW 2,000,000 in the 1st semester after entering PNU (1 time)

○ Academic Performance Scholarship for International Students

- From second semester : Holders of TOPIK Level 4 or higher who received a high G.P.A.

(100%, 70%, 50% 30% tuition waiver based on the ranking in the field among International

students in the last semester.) ※ It CANNOT be received while receiving EISS.
