Reduced fees apply only to those animals which fit under one of the follooing categories: • Desexed and Microchipped dog or cat. • Dog or cat over I O years old. • Dog or cat kept for breeding by the proprietor of a domestic

animal business conducted on registered premises. • Dog or cat registered with an applicable organisation, if the

owner is a member of the applicable organisation with which the animal is registered.

• Dog kept or used as or being trained to be farm working dogs. • Dog that has undergone dog obedience training provided

by or on behalf of an approved dog obedience training organisation.

• Dog that is permanently identified in the prescribed manner (Game Management Authority).

The owner of the animal must produce sufficient written proof of desexing, microchip implant, applicable organisation certificates and membership, domestic animaf business registration, approved dog obedience certificate, working dog status documentation and d&lared dog documentation, as applicable.

Animal Shelter or Pound Adoption

All animals adopted from an Animal Shelter or Counal Pound that is a Registered Domestic Animal Business with a Victorian Council will receive a reduced fee for the initial registration period only. if the animal is registered within 28 days of adoption. Written evidence of date of adoption, adoption agency details, desexing and microchipping must be provided.

Replacement I Replacement registration tags are available from the Tags Council Office. A fee is payable.

Council's Local Law No I and Council's Planning Scheme regulates the number of animals that can be kept at a property within the municipality. A Local Laws permit or Planning permit may be required.

The Shepparton Animal Shelter is located in Wanganui Road, Shepparton. The shelter can be contacted by telephone (03) 5832 9700. Please visit www.greatershepparton.com.au for opening hours or further information.

All new applications to register a dog I cat will not be accepted unless the dog I cat has been implanted with a microchip (of which proof must be provided). This includes dogs I cats moving into the municipality from another Council. However it does not include currently re~stered dogs I cats within Greater Shepparton City Council.

Greater Shepparton City Council requires all cats within the Municipal District to be desexed prior to registration unless exempt under the Domestic An;mals Act 1994 Part 2 I OB.

To be eligible for a reduced fee rate for dog registration, your dog must be desexed and microchipped. Greater Shepparton City Council will register an undesexed dog that is microchipped, however the full maximum fee will apply. Proof of desexing and microchipping is required at time of registering dog, to receive the reduced fee.

Foster Care I Foster Carers who choose to enrol with Council in the Foster Care scheme may be eligible to receive a reduced registration rate for the first 12 months the animal is in their care.
