Veterinary Technician License by Endorsement
Applicants for licensure by endorsement must submit the following:
Verification/certification of license to be submitted directly to this office by the licensing agency of any state of theUnited States in which you hold a current license or ever held a license as a veterinary technician. Verificationincludes, but is not limited to, showing proof of any disciplinary action taken or pending disciplinary action imposed.
Official transcripts submitted directly to this office from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)approved veterinary technician educational program from which you graduated. Transcript must show degreeearned and the date it was conferred.
Certification of your passing examination scores on the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE)submitted directly to this office from the examination agency. The jurisdiction selected on a candidate's VTNEapplication will automatically receive an official score report. Register with the American Association of VeterinaryState Boards, Veterinary Information Verifying Agency (AAVSB/VIVA) at http://aavsb.org/VIVA/score-transfers totransfer your examination scores.
Veterinary Technician License by Exam
To be eligible to take the VTNE examination through the State of Michigan, an application for licensure, fee andofficial transcripts from your school which show the degree earned and the date conferred OR a letter from theProgram Director of an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) approved veterinary technology programstating that you are a student in good standing in the final year of veterinary technician educational program mustbe received in this office no less than 45 days before the date of the examination indicated on the AAVSB website.
Official transcripts submitted directly to this office from the AVMA approved veterinary technician educationalprogram from which you graduated. Transcript must show degree earned and the date it was conferred.
You will need to register with the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) for the VeterinaryTechnician National Examination (VTNE) examination at www.aavsb.org. AAVSB will send you an Authorization-To-Test email for scheduling your exam after your application is processed by AAVSB and eligibility is confirmed bythe State of Michigan.
Certification of your passing examination scores on the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE)submitted directly to this office from the examination agency. Have successfully passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) developed by the AmericanAssociation of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) within the 3-year period immediately preceding the date of yourapplication for relicensure.
Veterinarian License by Endorsement
Applicants for licensure by endorsement who have been licensed as a veterinarian in another state of the United States for less than 5 years or who have engaged in the practice of veterinary medicine in another state for less than 5 years immediately preceding the date of filing an application must submit the following:
Verification/certification of license to be submitted directly to this office by the licensing agency of any state of theUnited States in which you hold a current license or ever held a license as a veterinarian. Verification includes, butis not limited to, showing proof of any disciplinary action taken or pending disciplinary action imposed.

Register with the AmericanAssociation of Veterinary State Boards, Veterinary Information Verifying Agency (AAVSB/VIVA) athttp://aavsb.org/VIVA/score-transfers to transfer your examination scores.
Veterinarian Clinical Academic License
A letter from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) approved college of veterinary medicine verifyingthat the applicant has been appointed to its academic faculty submitted directly to this office from the college. Theletter should include a statement that the applicant will not be practicing veterinary medicine independently or outsideof the position as a clinical instructor.
Veterinarian Educational Limited License
Certification of your passing examination scores on the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE)submitted directly to this office from the examination agency. The jurisdiction selected on a candidate’s veterinarianapplication will automatically receive an official score report. Register with the American Association of VeterinaryState Boards, Veterinary Information Verifying Agency (AAVSB/VIVA) at http://aavsb.org/VIVA/score-transfers totransfer your examination scores.
A letter from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) approved college of veterinary medicine verifyingthat the applicant has been admitted to postgraduate training program submitted directly to this office from thecollege. The letter should include a statement that the applicant will not be practicing veterinary medicineindependently or outside of the postgraduate training program.
