Statement of qualifications for membership:I was born and grew up in Sofia, Bulgaria; finished my high school education in England (onthe outskirts of London); came to the U.S. for college (I studied economics and comp sci &math at Yale University in New Haven); worked with a strategy consulting firm based inBoston for a while; and then arrived in San Francisco in 2005, where I have been workingmostly on strategy for technology companies. I also spent a few months living / working inNew York City, Seattle, and in Singapore.

In addition to cultivating a broad global perspective, and long-term strategic thinking, myexperience has allowed me to see and compare public transportation in all of these differentcities (most of which have a denser and more established public transportation system thanSF and are doing many things from which SF could probably draw inspiration for bestpractices).

My global & U.S. experience with different cities, my studies of economics, and my work onvarious strategy projects have afforded me a keen appreciation of the important role that aneffective and affordable transportation system plays not only in good urban panning, but alsoin the economic development of a City, and in combating income inequality and promotinghealthy socio-economics for everyone in the City.

I love San Francisco (I very much hope to spend the rest of my life here) and I care deeplyboth about preserving the diversity of the City and ensuring social justice and fairness for allresident, and about the economic development of the City and ensuring that it remains aworld-leading center of innovation.

I recently became a U.S. citizen.

Statement of objectives if accepted for membership:- Provide input on matters that go before the Transportation Authority Board and its standingcommittees (e.g. transportation plans, programs and studies; funding priorities;transportation-related tax proposals; and transportation-related legislation).- Represent the values and interests of both District 11 & the broader San Francisco residentcommunity in the development of the mission and programs of the Transportation Authority --as well as help communicate info about these back to the community.- Help to plan the future of transportation in San Francisco in such a way that it contributesboth the prosperity of all residents of the City, and to the economic development of the City.

Statement of qualifications for membership:I have been a City Councilor in Northampton Mass as well as on that City's Design ReviewCommission and vice-president of the Downtown Business Association. I was a businessowner for 30 years. I moved to San Francisco in 1999 and have spent the last 16 yearsestablishing myself in the Bay Area (I am the Director of Education for the California FilmInstitute). I started a Neighborhood Watch and became the Watch Captain in my immediateneighborhood 5 months ago working with SAFE San Francisco and realized I needed to getmore involved again. I am 69 years old and have a lot of life's wisdom contained in this agingbut active mind.

Statement of objectives if accepted for membership:As a commuter I'm very interested in public transportation and the failings of many UScommunities to adequately fund, maintain and expand public transportation. Frankly I try notto use Muni. I find it frustrating as far as schedules and particularly safety. It didn't used to bethat way but has gotten worse. I find BART a great system. My older daughter is disabledand has had trouble with Muni in particular and I have worked with her to get around better. Ithink I have a good idea of what could be changed if there was the will and I'd like to be partof that. I am an innovator and an entrepreneur. Although I now work for a non-profit I ownedmany businesses in my past and I like to bring innovative systems to my work.

Please see attached resume

Leah Shahum recommended that I apply to serve on the Transportation Authority's Citizens Advisory Committee. As a San Francisco resident, I am extremely interested in improving mobility through transit and infrastructure projects. Also, as a former diversity and cross-cultural trainer, I am passionate about ensuring and expanding equitable access to the multi-modal transit systems that serve our city's diverse population of workers and residents. Finally, as a cylcist and bicycle industry professional, I am dedicated to advocating for improvement to our bicycle network, with a special focus on supporting the goals of Vision Zero for pedestrians and cyclists alike. I am inspired by the goal of creating safer streets.

Some background on me: Althrough I reside in the Mission District, I cycle through SOMA on a daily basis, using the Howard and Folsom street bike lanes to commute to and from downtown. Before I began cycling, I commuted for years on the 14-Mission bus to downtown. I am quite familiar with District 6, and would be pleased to contribute to discussions regarding forthcoming transit developments such as the 2nd street corridor, the re-designs of Market, Mission, Polk Streets, and of course, the Transbay Transit Center.

As a committee member, you can expect from me: reliability, punctuality, commitment and organization. I will always consider the impact of changes to transit or infrastructure projects upon San Francisco's most underserved and vulnerable citizens and users. Also, I will speak thoughtfully on issues that are important to my community, while considering divergent perspectives that may also exist on the committee. Above all, in any group I serve, my strengths involve listening for points of agreement when conflict emerges and highlighting mutually beneficial solutions or compromises that might not be readily apparent.
