Category B: Regional and District wide Significance - Significant regional heritage items are items which have importance to the history of the region or district or have a high level of built integrity and are a good example of a type of building, and includes buildings or structures classed as Category II Historic Places under the Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act 2014. Buildings considered to be of particular importance are denoted as B+. This also includes the Karāpiro Hydro Electric Village Heritage Item. This is a precinct that provides a significant and unique representative group of twenty-one English revival cottages and six former community buildings that were associated with the construction and operation of Karāpiro Hydroelectric Power Station. The precinct is inclusive of the reserve and a portion of Ariki Street. Appendix N1 - Heritage Items

The letters listed in the ‘DP Cat’ column mean:

Category A: National Significance - Heritage items of national significance that are classed as Category I Historic Places under the Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act 2014.

Category B: Regional and District wide Significance - Significant regional heritage items are items which have importance to the history of the region or district or have a high level of built integrity and are a good example of a type of building, and includes buildings or structures classed as Category II Historic Places under the Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act 2014. Buildings considered to be of particular importance are denoted as B+. This also includes the Karāpiro Hydro Electric Village Heritage Item. This is a precinct that provides a significant and unique representative group of twenty-one English revival cottages and six former community buildings that were associated with the construction and operation of Karāpiro Hydroelectric Power Station. The precinct is inclusive of the reserve and a portion of Ariki Street.
