1 A “non-fatal reportable accident” means an accident which results in any injury (incapacitate for more than 3 days). 2 The "man-hours worked" for a public works contract means the man-hours worked by all persons employed on the works, whether in the employment of the main

contractor or his sub-contractors, who are exposed to the risks on the sites, including supervisory staff, site agent and engineer(s), workers, watchman etc. 3 The accident rates for columns marked with (a) are given in terms of no. of accidents per 100,000 man-hours worked. 4 The accident rates for columns marked with (b) are given in terms of no. of accidents per 1,000 workers per year based on a conversion : 1.67 accidents per 100,000

man-hours worked is equivalent to 60 accidents per 1,000 workers per year. 5 The accident rates for columns marked with (c) are given in no. of accidents per 1,000 workers per year based on the statistics of the Labour Department.
