SPACE-18-TEC-2019-2020: In-orbit validation/demonstration – Mission design, integration and implementationIOD/IOV needed to test/ de-risk innovations and bring them to market

Develop all the necessary tasks related to (future) IOD/IOV experiments :q System studies, at ground and space level, including compatibility with available launchers;

q Input to the launch mission analysis performed by the launch service provider;

q Selection, assembly, integration and testing of the spacecraft(s) and related ground segment;

q Management of interfaces with and between the different IOD/IOV experiments, between the satellite and the launcher and between the satellite and the ground segment;

q Preparation of the spacecraft(s) for the flight;

q In-orbit testing and operations including the provision of experiments data.

Selected project will interface with ESA and the European Launch Service Provider

SU-SPACE-22-SEC-2019: Space Weather

Space weather : can severely impact the performance of critical space and ground infrastructure disrupting operations and communications in multiple sectors of society

Current space weather services are not capable of forecasting events over several days➔ goal is to pave the way for forecasting horizons for space weather events in the order of tens of hours

or days& identify potential indicators of extreme events potentially through the joint analysis of interdisciplinary data

Impact:q Improved scientific understanding of the origin and evolution of space weather phenomena;

q New models and forecasting techniques

q Inventory of potential early indicators of extreme space weather events
