Mission of Gas Well Deliquification Seminar

Our Mission is to provide:

• A forum for gas well operators, and those related to production operations.

• An exchange of information related to economic of deliquification of liquid loaded gas wells.

• A forum to learn new techniques, equipment, and products related to deliquification of gas wells.



Gas Well Deliquification Seminar Vision

Information exchanged in the forum:

• Leads to new and better operational techniques.

• Helps identify the need for new products and services for the operation of gas wells with liquid loading problems.

• Leads to increased success for both:– Gas well operators

– Suppliers of products and equipment.



Deliquification

Deliquification focuses on:

• Methods of removing restrictions to gas flow caused by liquids accumulating in the gas production stream.

• Removal of the liquids results in lower producing bottom hole pressure.

• And provides a corresponding increase in both gas production and subsequent gas reserves.



General Chairman

Rob SuttonMarathon Oil Company

Rob Sutton is a Senior Technical Consultant for Marathon Oil Company in Houston where he works in the Reservoir Performance Group under the Upstream Technology organization.

Rob developed Marathon’s well performance analysis software as well as software for the calculation of gas well unloading velocity, simple black-oil, gas and water PVT calculations, erosional velocity, and well skin factor analysis.



Keynote Speaker

• The Keynote Address will be given by Dave McKain, Director of the Oil and Gas Museum in Parkersburg, WV. He will talk about the early history of artificial lift in the Appalachian Basin and will show a short video of a continuous pumping unit system that was in use in the old Volcano Oil Field in WV.

• Dave has written a book and video on the history of the oil industry in West Virginia and is curator for the WV oil and gas museum. He can be contacted at 304-483-5137 and at [email protected]

• He will bring some books and videos for sale and signing in the Seminar Exhibit area.
