Scene 1 – Square Peg / Round HoleCreative Problem Solving

A problem arose that had never been anticipated

Leadership used humor to ease the tension

Representatives of teams associated with the problem presented facts

Leadership emphatically stated the objective and the time constraints

A team with appropriate expertise to solve the problem was assembled

Team leader clearly defined the task, resources and time constraints

Limited resources; the team had to “make do” with what they had

Open and creative thinking was required to solve the problem

The manufacturing process had to be thoroughly documented

Procedures had to be clearly communicated to a very remote location

The team celebrated their success!

Scene 2 – Corridor BurnLeadership & Teamwork

The team had to be grounded… an absolute goal to focus on

All team members were under extreme stress and pressure

Leader took charge immediately and assigned task responsibilities

All members of the team were involved

Accuracy and speed of execution was critical

Team members never lost their focus

The environment was not conducive to executing the task

The person with the least amount of pressure assumed the role of coach

There was constant, effective communication throughout the exercise

The team rose to the occasion and executed a seemingly impossible task!
