Advanced Patient Advocacy Continues Community Outreach
As Part of Federal Navigator Grant
For Immediate Release: Richmond, VA — February 5, 2015 Advanced Patient Advocacy, LLC (APA)
announced today that, during the current healthcare open enrollment period, its team of trained
Navigators has participated in numerous outreach and enrollment events throughout the targeted
communities. Events have been held at medical facilities, churches, neighborhood resource/recreation
centers, college campuses, clinics, and other public venues. Additional events are scheduled before the
February 15th open enrollment deadline. Working with its healthcare and community partners, APA
participates in such events to:
Promote awareness in an environment that provides an easy way to enroll individuals and
families;
Disseminate educational material surrounding coverage choices; and
Provide friendly, comprehensive, and convenient Navigation support.
APA was selected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to provide free assistance through
federally-trained Navigators to the citizens of Virginia, West Virginia, Missouri, and Tennessee.
Navigators provide education and guidance for uninsured and underinsured citizens to assist them with
selecting the private healthcare plan that best meets their personal needs. Patient Navigators are also
responsible for conducting public education activities, such as attending health fairs and other local
events to raise awareness of the healthcare Marketplace and coverage opportunities.
Advanced Patient Advocacy, LLC, is a privately-owned company that provides a comprehensive suite of
