InvitationPolymers have generated enormous interest in the field of

biomedicine and healthcare. These materials have

become an integral part of human life where people try to

use innovative products and systems with smart features.

Advancements in polymeric materials for biomedical

applications over the past century has been largely due to

the ongoing innovations in medical science and

technology so as to provide the best medical facilities to

patients. The delivery of modern healthcare system

depends on an expanding interdisciplinary team of trained

professionals from vast areas of materials science and

biomedicine. It is therefore very important to have a close

interact ion of mater ia l sc ient is ts , b io log ists ,

pharmacologists and medical practitioners, so that a well

defined goal and direction may be pursued towards the

healthcare scenario for the world community.

Asian Polymer Association (APA), Centre for Biomedical

and Biomaterials Research (CBBR), University of Mauritius

and Indo-Italian Forum (IIF) for Biomaterials & Tissue

Engineering are organizing an International Conference on

Advanced Polymers, Biomaterials, Bioengineering & Nano

Drug Delivery in Mauritius during September 5-7, 2016.

The conference involves very innovative domains of

polymeric biomaterials, nanomaterials, material-tissue

interaction, wound care systems, drug delivery systems,

pharmaceutical science, tissue engineering, antimicrobial

chemistry, biodesign and biomedical applications. This

conference is proposed to exchange information on new

dimensions in healthcare systems and would help in

formulating the action plan to face the challenges ahead in

biomaterials and biomedical technology. This conference

offers a very focused platform for the stakeholders to

discuss, analyse and bring out policies and joint working

groups in different areas of biomedical technology. We

would like to extend our invitation for your participation in

‘APA-2016’ in Mauritius.

We look forward to welcoming you in Mauritius.
