When we ask for a Move of the Spirit / Revival / get in on the

Outpouring of the Spirit, it doesn’t begin by changing things

around us - IT BEGINS BY CHANGING US!!!

A Corporate Move of the Spirit depends as much on the

People as the Leadership.A Corporate Move of the Spirit

depends as much on theLeadership as the People.

b. An individual move of the Spirit isn’t dependent onany other person. It’s you and God.

We will need to become more like him, and less like theold us.

Isaiah 59:1-2 (NIV)[1] Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. [2] But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

2 Peter 1:3-9 (NIV)[3] His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. [4] Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

[5] For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; [6] and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; [7] and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. [8] For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.

[16] And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

[17] In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment,

because in this world we are like him. [18] There is no fear in love. But perfect

love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

[19] We love because he first loved us. [20] If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. [21] And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.

Where did Fear begin?

Genesis 3:6-10 (NIV)[6] When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. [7] Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for

themselves.

[8] Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. [9] But the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?”

[10] He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

Ezekiel 1:26-28 (NIV)[26] Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. [27] I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire;

Ezekiel 1:26-28 (NIV)and brilliant light surrounded him. [28] Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him.

This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.

Ezekiel 8:2-4 (NIV)[2] I looked, and I saw a figure like that of a man. From what appeared to be his waist down he was like fire, and from there up his appearance was as bright as glowing metal. [3] He stretched out what looked like a hand and took me by the hair of my head.

to the north gate of the inner court, where the idol that provokes to jealousy stood. [4] And there before me was the glory of the God of Israel, as in the vision I had seen in the plain.

1 Corinthians 15:54 (NIV)[54] When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

2 Corinthians 5:2-3 (NIV)[2] Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with ourheavenly dwelling, [3] because when we are clothed, we willnot be found naked.

Genesis 3:10 (NIV)[10] He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid BECAUSE I was naked; so I hid.”

Exodus 33:18-23 (NIV)[18] Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” [19] And the LORD said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

Exodus 33:18-23 (NIV)[20] But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” [21] Then the LORD said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. [22] When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. [23] Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.”

Exodus 33:7-18 (NIV)[7] Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the “tent of meeting.” Anyone inquiring of the LORD would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp. [8] And whenever Moses went out to the tent, all the people rose and stood at the entrances to their tents, watching Moses until he entered the tent.

[9] As Moses went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the entrance, while the LORD spoke with Moses. [10] Whenever the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance to the tent, they all stood and worshiped, each at the

entrance to his tent. [11] The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend.

Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent. [12] Moses said to the LORD, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,' but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.'

[13] If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.” [14] The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

[15] Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. [16] How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?” [17] And the LORD said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.” [18] Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.”

[7] Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

> Notice: They felt “Something is wrong with us”

> Shame.

The further back into being clothed with the Glory we can get - the less Shame, or thefeeling that Something is Wrong with us – the less it bothers us.

The further back into being clothed with the Glory we can get - the less Fear, or thefeeling that Something bad is going to happen to us - the less it will bother us.

Shame / Fear and the Glory don’t live together.

Either one > Shame & Fear> The Glory

Will drive the other out.
