We Welcome, We Worship, We Witness: Continuing this week with the separate ministries of our Mission Statement.
How do we live this in our lives, relationships and in our faith with GOD. This week we focus on We Wit-
ness...
We Witness—What is Witness? As Catholics, we are not familiar with, comfortable with or even under-
stand it. Sometimes (a lot of times!) it is said that witnessing is “those other groups that go door to
door”, or “those radicals on the street corners.” But how does GOD wants us to see our role as witness-
es’? Is it not something that is expected of us in our Baptismal Rite? The dictionary says for Witness: “one who gives evidence, one
who is present and able to testify, one who has personal knowledge of something, serve as evidence or proof.” The disciples
were “witnessing” sharing the GOOD NEWS of Jesus and the Gospel. Christ was the “faithful witness” of Heaven and all things
GOD. The Holy Spirit? A Witnessing of the Holy Spirit “is the consciousness of the gracious operation of the Spirit on the mind, "a
certitude of the Spirit's presence and work continually asserted within us", manifested "in His comforting us, His stirring us up to
prayer, His reproof of our sins, His drawing us to works of love, to bear testimony before the
world," etc. WOW! “Witnessing” is telling your part of the “family story”, of the joy and good
works that GOD has done for you, the support and love of the community of Holy Family and/or
sharing the miracles of our daily life because of GOD, with others who have not been able to see
that in their lives. We are to witness, to give hope, to give support and to give love through our
own story/journey. When we hold back, we are holding back all the beauty of GOD, Jesus and the
Holy Spirit. This being Trinity Sunday, we are going to be witnesses to the joy, the awe and the true miracle of the risen Christ and
the salvation of our lives through the cross and in the Eucharist each week at Mass and especially as youth and their families cele-
brate the Sacrament of Eucharist. This is the story to share each week to others, (versus was the church too hot or cold LOL)…..
IDEA’S— Tell your faith story to someone, invite someone back by sharing the wonderful things happening all the County
churches, Ask others about their faith; witness by showing up and the importance of supporting your family. Or think of the song
“This Little Light of Mine” and share your light...even if you don’t know if you have much of a faith life, don’t “hide it under the
bushel” - LET IT SHINE, LET IT SHINE!!
NEW PEOPLE: Share your stories too, listen to the stories of others, share ideas of how we can witness to the world out-
side our church doors, and GET INVOLVED!! This week, let your LIGHT SHINE and WITNESS to others. God Bless, glenna xo

Cumberland County Mass and Lay Services!
Mary, Mother of Mercy Prayer Group:
Come and join Prayer Group Nights Thursdays at 7pm in the Church. To-gether we join music, fellowship and prayer to support, encourage and be in our faith with each other. We Are Growing! Join us in the church for our gatherings, and is a wonderful blessing. Welcome!
Senior Drives for Mass on Weekend:
We have quite a number of Seniors who travel to and from
Mass with cabs, (and groceries, doctor apts, etc) This is an
extra burden to an already VERY limited income. If you think
you could lessen the burden by assisting one or two of the
Seniors, we would hook you up with someone presently in
need. Contact Glenna at the Office.
