Pastor’s Poetry Post-Its

“HOLY FAMILY”

If God could lie down in a cattle-trough,

Is any object safe from transformation?

If a peasant girl can be the mother of God,

Is any life safe from invasion of the eternal?

If all of this could happen, O God

What places of darkness on earth are pregnant

With light waiting to be born this night?

If all this could happen, O God,

Then you could be, and are, anyway, everywhere

Waiting to be born this night

In the most unbelievable places, perhaps even in

our own hearts.

CYO Service Project Updates

The 8th Grade Boys will return to Neighbors Link again this year to deliver a home cooked meal. Neighbors Link is

a center based in Mount Kisco whose mission is to strengthen the whole community through the healthy integration of immigrants. That mission is achieved by filling a service gap for new immigrant families, offering education and empowerment programs, involving longer-term residents in volunteer opportunities and creating substantive partnerships with other local organizations. Strategies to educate, empower and employ families include a Worker Center, English as a Second Language (ESL) education, legal services and advocacy, workforce development, parent education, early childhood programs and academic support for school-age children of immigrants. There are many opportunities to provide service, one of which is making a meal so that workers can stay later and participate in many of the opportunities the center provides. Coach: Moore, Team Parent: O’Reilly

The 8th Grade Boys will be working with Ronald McDonald House to cook a pancake breakfast for the

children in the hospital. In fact, RMHC is supported by 431,174 volunteers who dedicate their time, talent and resource to RMHC helping to

offset costs and allowing the Charity to direct more donations back to programs supporting children and their families. Coaches: James Challice & John McCarthy Team Parent: Melissa Rosen

Happy New Year! As we begin 2018 let us pray for peace! We pray for peace in our world, our communities, our families, our minds and in our hearts.

Let us also be at peace for each other!

Let us pray…. Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon; where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

Where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I

May not so much seek,

To be consoled as to console,

To be understood as to understand,

To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive,

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

It is in dying that we are

born to eternal life.

Amen -Attributed to St. Francis of Assisi
