Again, because of those talented printers, but mostly because of your input, we have produced newsletters that we can all be proud of. We've even won a National award because of all the help I've received in this effort. Thank you all for your input, your suggestions, and your cooperation. Starting with the May/June issue, George Gollin has stepped up to the plate and volunteered to take over the newsletter. With a fresh mind and your help I know George will keep the ball rolling. ACSCI Update - by Don DuBois Attendence at our monthly meetings has been on the rise of late. I'm a little

surprised because of the crap weather we've been having. On the other hand, our

speakers have been interesting and informative.

Because of the number of educational and humanitarian projects we've been

involved in, our financial picture is a little bleak. At the February meeting a

motion was made and carried that the annual drawings for sponsor, new member,

and attendance be combined into one rifle drawing.. By combining these three

drawings into one we will save a minumum of $1000.00 which we can put to

better use.(Let's face it, we sign up new members because SCI is First For

Hunters, not so we can get in on a drawing: new members join us because SCI is

First For Hunters, not because they want to be in a drawing; we attend ACSCI

meetings because we are inerested in the topics and workings of the Chapter, not

to get our names in yet another drawing.)

Don't forget to make your reservations for our annual fundraiser on March 27.

We have some new vendors, some great taxidermy, and some great auction items.

We also have a ten gun raffle going on which will end at the fundraiser. Hope to

see you there!

...and, Thank You...This issue of the ACSCI newsletter is my last

stab at the newsprint business. For the last few (seems like a dozen) years I have

taken your pictures, your stories, ACSCI projects, and other tid bits forwarded to

me, and, with the help of talented printers, churned out the newsletter. Again,

because of those talented printers, but mostly because of your input, we have

produced newsletters that we can all be proud of. We've even won a National

award because of all the help I've received in this effort. Thank you all for your

input, your suggestions, and your cooperation. Starting with the May/June issue,

George Gollin has stepped up to the plate and volunteered to take over the

newsletter. With a fresh mind and your help I know George will keep the ball

rolling. Please forward your hunt reports and pictues to George at 7 Tilton Ave.,

Help Me Stop Future Fees Senator Joe Griffo, 47th Senatorial District

The state budget raised fees for licenses and permits by 50% or more, effective Oct. 1, 2009. I

opposed these fee increases because, unlike in previous years, none of the money collected from

these higher fees will be used for conservation activities. Make your voice heard by joining with

me and sportsmen's advocates in fighting against future increases in hunting and fishing fees. To

see a list of fee increases, visit www.dec.state.ny.us

Again this year our chapter will be offering seed corn for wildlife plantings.

If you want to plant some for your critters, call Larry Steiner at (607) 988-6334. On a first come, first served basis, we're selling the fifty pound bags of corn for $5.00.

(That's enough to plant about two and a half acres.)
