Rule #2 when answering a question on your foldable…..

A simple sentence will NOT do!!

• When giving your response, explain your answer as if you are talking to someone who has never heard about the different types of rocks in their entire lifetime!

• Your teacher is clueless as to what you “meant to say”.

UNACCEPTABLE ANSWER …..

•  “How do igneous rocks form?”

•  Because they come from the melting and cooling of magma.

POOR example …..

•  “How do igneous rocks form?”

•  Igneous Rocks can form from the melting and cooling of magma.

Good example …..

“How do igneous rocks form?”

•  Igneous Rocks can form from the melting and cooling of magma underneath the Earth’s surface. These are called intrusive rocks.

Igneous Rocks are also created above the Earth’s surface, as lava cools and solidifies

when it is exposed to the outside air. These are called extrusive rocks.
