New Rector ’s Forum “The Epiphany of Mary, Mother of God” - on January 7, 14, and 21, 2018, in the front half of Jeffords Hall at 10:15 a.m. The liturgical season of the Epiphany weaves together the stages of spiritual vision offered through the story of Mary, from the visit of the angel Gabriel to the Magi’s visit to Bethlehem

and into the Temple for the Naming of Jesus. These religious themes enter our lives, too, every year through the Church. Peering through the lens of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the gospels of Luke and Matthew, we will gather to consider what God may be saying to us during this holy times.

New Book Study Join us in reading, studying, and discussing Healing the Heart of Democracy by Parker J. Palmer. This class will be led by Edith Cobourn, The Rev. Michelle Ortiz, and Tom Erdmanczyk. We will meet during the Sunday school hour for six weeks, beginning on January 7, 2018, at 10:15 a.m. in Grace Parish Hall. We encourage you to buy the book now, read ahead, and attend each class; however, the design of this class enables the full participation of those who have not done their homework, or who cut class occasionally.

Tuesday, January 30

in Jef fords Hal l : The topic this month deals with gun violence. We will hear a speaker from the Department of Justice who will present an objective view and will be prepared to field questions. Our purpose is to educate parishioners on the facts and have civil discussions among ourselves, exploring our differences in a way that strengthens our parish family. As usual, we will start at 6:00 with a potluck dinner and agape meal to help us get to know each other and to establish an environment of respect and Christian love. The speaker will follow at 6:45 – 7:30, and then small group discussion from 7:30 – 8:00. We will then wind down from 8:00 – 8:30 for those who can stay. Please direct any questions about the event to Tom Erdmanczyk at 404-775-6717 or [email protected] Childcare will conclude at 8: make reservations with Sarah McVay: [email protected] All members of St. David's are encouraged to join us as we seek to live out our baptismal covenants together.
