On behalf of Indian Brachytherapy Society and Department of Radiation Oncology,th
Tata Memorial Hospital, it gives us immense pleasure to invite you to the 8 Annual Conference th
of Indian Brachytherapy Society, IBSCON - 2018 scheduled between 10th and 12 August 2018 at Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai, India.
Brachytherapy being the most conformal and time tested form of Radiation therapy, has evolved in terms of applicators, imaging, software, QA tools etc in the recent past. We are also fortunate to be a witness to a high level evidence in Breast, prostate and cervical cancers in favor of brachytherapy. However, like unsung heroes there are many other sites where brachytherapy has shown promise but have not become popular. In order to rekindle and reckon brachytherapy in uncommon sites like nose &nasal cavity, neck nodes, pediatric cancers, sarcomas, etc. IBSCON 2018 has been dedicated to these sites with a theme of
. We will have experts who will share some meat in terms of practical tips and tricks to take back home.
thIBSCON 2018 starts on 10 August with a pre-conference workshop in collaboration with AERB, on
th th. The next two days (11 and 12 August) of the conference will deal with brachytherapy in the above mentioned uncommon sites. Sessions will include video presentations, discussion on implementation issues, proffered paper presentations and presentation on Developments and Innovations for manufacturer's perspective.
We request the delegates to send abstracts related to the theme which will be discussed by experts in the form of posters and oral presentations. The best oral presentations (1st and 2nd) will be offered IBS National Travel Fellowships to motivate residents / junior faculty (< 3 years post MD) and develop interest & enhance their knowledge of Brachytherapy.

Submission Closing Date:
Only one abstract per delegate will be accepted.
All Abstracts to be submitted by email to:
Guidelines for Abstract submission: Ÿ Abstracts must be submitted in a word or pdf format.Ÿ Abstracts should be 300 words maximum including the section headings. The title, authors' names and
professional affiliations are not included in the word count.Ÿ Title: The abstract title should be in initial capital/lower case, not all capitals. The abstract title should
be concise and describe/refer to the content.Ÿ Authors: Authors' names should be supplied in capital/lower case, not all capitals. Institutional
affiliations should be indicated at Affiliation No. following the author name.Ÿ Affiliation: All affiliations should contain institution, city and country.Ÿ Body: The abstract should be structured to include an introduction, Material & methods, Results,
Tables (max. 2) and Conclusions. Abstracts which do not contain the actual results of the study will be rejected. Please do not include references in the abstract.
Ÿ Images / Tables: Up to 2 supporting images or tables for your abstract are allowed. All images should be cited in the text of the abstract.
Abstract Acknowledgement: All presenting authors of submitted abstracts will be notified as to whether their abstract has been accepted for Oral or Poster presentation and the author is expected to be present
AWARDS: Best Oral presentations (1st and 2nd prize) will be awarded National Travel Fellowships for Brachytherapy. The grants will be towards apex airfare (to & fro) or 2nd A/C train tickets for shortest route and token money as dearness allowances.
