The step to speech recognition

In order to accelerate the creation of

legal documents even further, Stephan

Meusburger decided to join the voice

recognition trend five years ago. He has

been using the USB dictation microphone

Philips SpeechMike Premium for this since

December 2012.

Dictation work-flow today

In the office, dictation is done mainly with

the use of voice recognition. Mr. Meusburg-

er dictates with the SpeechMike Premium

and the text is inserted directly into the

template in the office software. The docu-

ments are created in real time – nothing

could be faster. When Mr. Meusburger is on

the move, he continues to use the digital

Pocket Memo and leaves speech recognition

until he gets back to the office or, in rare

cases, a typist produces the document.

Excellent results despite ambient noise

“It is remarkable how well speech recogni-

tion works with the SpeechMike Premium.

With the headset used previously, there

were often problems with ambient noise,

especially when the window was open. I no

longer have this problem with the Speech-

Mike Premium, these sounds are simply

filtered out,” says Stephan Meusburger.

The outstanding results are achieved using

the new technology, which is hidden behind

the SpeechMike Premium microphone. This

is decoupled from the housing, as is the

case with studio microphones. Through

the combination of the integrated filter and

the special microphone grid, any sounds

that should not be recorded are filtered

out. This ensures that only words that

are actually spoken are picked up by voice

recognition.

directly on the device also convinced me.

Now I can easily dictate and edit large

documents,” added Stephan Meusburger.
