God knows us. God appoints us. God blesses us to be a blessing.

The world tells us that a person’s life is only as valuable as the circumstances into which they are

born. But in the Bible we read about how people from a variety of backgrounds were appointed to

achieve God’s purposes. We see this reflected clearly in the ancestral line of Jesus Christ.

Jacob. Tamar. Ruth. David. Each was appointed to accomplish God’s purposes. Not one of them

was born into ideal circumstances. In their stories we read about experiences of poverty and

displacement, brokenness and vulnerability, pain and loss. Yet each one of these men and

women were chosen by God, and their lives were precious to him.

As the people of God, we are called to seek flourishing for every person created in the image

of God, which includes protecting lives that are vulnerable—children (both born and unborn),

prisoners, widows, orphans, and refugees. Join us in seeking justice in ways that testify to the

hope of the gospel. Here are a few ways to do that:

PrayPray for the safety and protection of children, both born and unborn. Ask for wisdom for the women and men making difficult decisions about life and death.

GiveGive of your time or resources to support your local pregnancy care center. To find one in your area, visit justice.crcna.org/abortion.
