What is the AOBT?The Academy of Business & Technology, or AOBT, is an award-

winning school within a school academy program at Clairemont

High that focuses on the business and finance industry. Our three-

year program provides college-prep core classes and business

career-technical electives in 10th, 11th and 12th grade. AOBT students

stay together as a group and take three to four periods of each schoolday as part of the academy. The AOBT classrooms are connected,

and our team of six teachers works together to create fun, authentic,

real-world cross-curricular projects. Our students say AOBT is a

family environment that encourages them to succeed.

How does AOBT benef i t s tudents?The AOBT is supported by the AOBT Foundation (made up of

business partners) and the California Partnership Academies Grant.

This volunteer and financial support gives AOBT the opportunity to

do more community-connected projects, fieldtrips, activities, and

simulations than regular classes. We use these resources to focus

heavily on preparing students for college and a career. Students

encounter countless business partner volunteers through

mentorships, internships, job shadows and guest speakers. By the

time they graduate, theyre ready to face the real world!
