QUALITY CONTROLAt the end of each tour all travellers complete a comprehensive questionnaire which allows us to closely monitor any items that need attention and this feedback ensures we can act quickly so that any issue can be rectified immediately.

STAY A LITTLE LONGERExtra nights’ accommodation can be arranged either before or after your tour. As some flights arrive late at night and others depart early morning, extra nights are highly recommended to allow yourself time to relax before commencing your holiday.

LET US CARRY YOUR BAGSFrom the moment you arrive in New Zealand you will be assisted with your luggage. Each touring day your packed bags will be left at your hotel door for the porters to collect and then assist the Coach Captain to load safely onto the coach. On arrival at each new hotel luggage will be delivered to your hotel room in quick turnaround time.

A WARM WELCOMEOn arrival at each hotel a member of the management team will board the coach and provide a friendly welcome including a full brief on the hotels facilities and surrounds. When a two night stay is included, you will receive an official welcome letter called ‘Hotel Hints’ detailing the facilities including special Grand Pacific Tours arrangements

PERSONALISED SERVICEWhilst travelling with a group, it is still important that your holiday is a personal experience. One guide per 24 travellers has been confirmed for any guided tour inclusion.

ANYONE FOR A HELICOPTER RIDE?In certain locations you will have free time to participate in a range of Optional Activities from jet boating to helicopter rides. A colour Optional Tours Directory is provided so you can budget for any extra activities. A range of discount coupons are also included for local Auckland and Christchurch activities if you are extending your time pre or post tour.

DON’T FORGET YOUR JACKET!A range of merchandise is available for sale when confirming your tour. Refer to page 6 for further details. The jackets and vests are a great idea to keep you dry and warm. Keep one in your day pack.

NO MESSY MEAL SUPPLEMENTS!Our tours are inclusive of daily cooked breakfast and most dinners. An occasional night is free to dine at leisure and soak up the ambience of the local surrounds.

SPECIALTY MEALSEvery tour incorporates a number of specialty dinners including a traditional Haggis Ceremony in Dunedin, country fare at the Walter Peak Homestead in Queenstown and experience a colourful Maori Hangi and Concert in Rotorua.

WE ARE HERE TO ASSISTOur qualified Operations Team in New Zealand ensure the smooth delivery of every tour. Located in the North and South Islands, our dedicated team provide personal assistance to both the travellers and Coach Captains whenever required. A Dinner Hostess is on site for your first nights dinner to assist with introductions.

SAFETY IS IMPORTANTOn the first morning of travel the Coach Captain will play a short introductory DVD providing some useful information that will ensure all travellers are fully briefed on a range of health and safety topics.

TOUR POINTS TO NOTETerms & Conditions This brochure should be read in conjunction with the ANZCRO (UK) Booking Conditions shown on your confirmation invoice and also on the back of the ANZCRO (UK) Australia or New Zealand book.

Children Children’s fares (i.e. 11 years and under) are available on application. Please note: unfortunately children under five are not suitable on these tours.

Luggage Limits Each traveller is entitled to take one suitcase, the sum of length, width and depth is not to exceed 140cm and weigh no more than 20 kilograms.

Single Travellers The option to twin share with another single traveller is not available on some tours. Please enquire with your Travel Consultant at time of booking.

Room & Dietary Requests Special room and dietary requests will be accepted and passed on to the hotels but cannot be guaranteed.

Triple Share Room Bookings Hotel rooms are generally sized to accommodate two travellers in comfort. When three travellers elect to share a room note that there will be restricted space. Please note that a rollaway bed may be used for triple share room bookings where three separate beds are required.

Special conditions apply on all tours that overnight on Ipipiri, the Overnight Boat in the Bay of Islands. Please enquire at time of booking.

Optional Tours Grand Pacific Tours does not operate these excursions. As such, no person employed or associated with Grand Pacific Tours has any connection with the operators of these excursions.

Variation Grand Pacific Tours reserves the right to cancel or to vary the content of its tours should the need arise.

Transfers Return airport transfers in New Zealand are not included if travellers have pre or post tour accommodation booked outside the Tour Hotels.

MERCHANDISE CONDITIONSAll purchases must be made with your Travel Consultant at time of booking. Payment for all merchandise is due with final tour payment. Merchandise will not be sold once on tour or after travellers return home. If purchased, your merchandise will be made available to you with your documentation at your first nights’ hotel.

DAY 1: Arrive Auckland (D)On arrival into Auckland you will be met by a Grand Pacific Tours representative and transferred to your hotel.

DAY 2: Auckland - Bay of Islands (B,D)Depart Auckland and travel to the Parry Kauri Park to see a magnificent example of a Kauri Tree. Enjoy a visit and informative talk at the Kauri Museum in Matakohe then pass through Whangarei to Paihia. Enjoy a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, the location of the signing of the treaty between the Maori tribes and the British.

DAY 3: Bay of Islands Overnight Cruise (B,D) A memorable day lies ahead of you today. After breakfast you are free to explore Paihia before boarding Ipipiri, the Great Sights brand new luxurious catamaran for your overnight cruise in the beautiful Bay of Islands. Cruise past spectacular landmarks, such as the Black Rocks and Urupukapuka Island before being anchored in a sheltered bay for a truly exclusive experience. You will be surrounded by nature, as the warm waters are home to an abundance of marine life such as dolphins, whales, seals and penguins. Tenders will ferry you to nearby islands as you learn of the rich history and ecology associated

with this region. At sunset enjoy a buffet of local cuisine before retiring to your King Stateroom that has sea views.

DAY 4: Bay of Islands - Auckland (B,D)After a unique overnight stay, start the day with a leisurely breakfast before you cruise back to Opua Wharf mid-morning. Farewell the Bay of Islands and drive south via Whangarei, Wellsford and Warkworth to Auckland. Enjoy a short city tour and free time before transferring to your hotel.

DAY 5: Auckland - Rotorua (B,L,D) Depart Auckland and travel to Glenbrook Vintage Railway for a nostalgic 15 kilometre trip back in time on a beautifully restored vintage steam train. DAY 12: Rotorua (B,SD)Today begins with a Gondola ride to Cableway Restaurant where a buffet breakfast and spectacular views are on offer. Continue via Whangarei to Paihia, situated in the heart of the beautiful Bay of Islands. Enjoy an introduction to the Bay of Islands, location of the signing of the treaty between the Maori tribes and the British.

DAY 14: Bay of Islands (B,D)This morning travel aboard a luxury catamaran to Cape Brett and the famous Hole in the Rock. Keep an eye out for bottlenose and common dolphins before returning via Russell to Paihia for a free afternoon. DAY 9: Wellington - Picton - Blenheim (B,D)Enjoy free time this morning to explore Wellington at leisure. This afternoon board the Interislander Ferry, cross Cook Strait and travel through the Marlborough Sounds to Picton where you board your coach for the short journey to Blenheim.

DAY 10: Blenheim - Kaikoura - Christchurch (B,D)Tour through Marlborough Country, famous for its food and wine then travel to the quaint fishing village of Kaikoura. DAY 2: Christchurch - Twizel (B,D)Travel through the southern Canterbury Plains to Lake Tekapo. See the brilliant turquoise water, visit the Church of the Good Shepherd, view the Sheep Dog Statue and marvel at the spectacular mountain ranges including Mt Cook, New Zealand’s highest peak. The opportunity is available (time and weather permitting) to enjoy a scenic flight (optional) over the Southern Alps.

DAY 3: Twizel - Dunedin (B,SD)Depart Twizel and see Lake Benmore, before following the Waitaki River to Oamaru, famous for its limestone. Continue to Dunedin and enjoy an informative city tour including a visit to Olveston House. Tonight a Scottish evening will be presented comprising of bagpipes, great food, special Haggis Ceremony and gift.

DAY 4: Dunedin - Te Anau (B,D)Travel along the Otago Peninsula to Larnach Castle for a guided tour. Visit Glenfalloch Woodland Gardens and view the superb collection of flowers, followed by a delightful morning tea. Travel through Balclutha and Gore to Te Anau for overnight.

DAY 5: Te Anau - Milford Sound - Te Anau (B,L,D)Depart Te Anau for a fascinating drive to Milford Sound where you board your launch for a cruise on this magnificent fiord. See the spectacular Bowen Falls and towering Mitre Peak as you enjoy a picnic lunch. This afternoon return to Te Anau where some free time is available. Tonight you may visit the Te Anau Glow Worm Caves (optional).

DAY 6: Te Anau - Queenstown (B,SD)Travel to Arrowtown and visit the Lakes District Museum before continuing to Queenstown. This evening board the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw and cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak Station. Enjoy the best of New Zealand’s high country cuisine in the Colonel’s Homestead. After dinner enjoy a short farm tour then reboard the TSS Earnslaw for a sing along by the piano on your return cruise.

DAY 7: Queenstown (Free Day) (B)Today is a free day. There are plenty of sightseeing options and your Coach Captain is available to assist. The evening is also free. You may choose to dine out at one of the many fine restaurants.

DAY 8: Queenstown - Franz Josef (B,D)Travel via the Haast Pass to the West Coast, an area of stunning beauty. See the snow capped peaks of the Southern Alps as you travel north to Fox Glacier. Experience a scenic flight (optional - weather permitting) over the spectacular glaciers before continuing to Franz Josef.

DAY 9: Franz Josef - Christchurch (B,SD) Travel to Hokitika and visit the Greenstone Factory. Continue to Arthur’s Pass and board The TranzAlpine, one of the great train journeys of the world.
