RULES & CONDITIONS Entry to the show grounds is governed by the following rules, regulations and conditions:

1 The Pegasus Pony Club Inc will not be liable or held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to horse, person, vehicles or equipment whilst on the grounds.

2 Competitors who are not financial member of PCASA, Trail rider assoc, Arab Assoc, Endurance Assoc, Show Horse Council, or the EA will required to pay a $10 participation levy to compete in any ring. (Listed members will be required to email a copy of their card and a filled in Day participation form on the day to compete.)

3 Protective headgear (ASA/AZ 3838, ASTM F 1163(USA) or early Europe VG1) must be not be more than 5 years old and appropriate boots must be worn while mounted.

4 Competitors riding faster than a walk through raceways and entrances will be asked to leave the grounds. 5 Stewards have the right at the discretion of the judge to remove from the rings any horse/rider/handler that does not comply with

the rules, constitutes a hazard to other competitors, or behaves in an unruly manner. 6 The Pegasus Pony Club Inc reserves the right to alter or cancel any event on the program, or combination any event 7 at the committee’s discretion. 8 The judge’s decision on the day will be final. 9 Ages of the riders where indicated are ages on the 1st January 2019. 10 All pleasure classes are to be ridden in a snaffle and no whips or spurs permitted. 11 All protests must be lodged within 15 minutes of completion of the event together with a $50 protest fee.

The decision of the protest coordinating committee will be final. 12 Programs are correct at the time of publication, and are subject to change without notice. 13 Stallion’s ineligible. 14 MAIDEN: A horse/pony/rider who has not won a first prize in an individual hack/rider class at any show or gymkhana

for that class. 15 NOVICE: A horse/pony/rider who has not won a first prize in an individual open hack/rider class at any

Agricultural/Affiliated show or gymkhana. 16 Walk /Trot RING: classes are walk/trot only, open to any age group and breeds. To be ridden in snaffle only 17 ENCOURAGE RING: For inexperienced competitors. Any horse or rider having won a champion in the last

12 months is ineligible for this ring. To be ridden in snaffle only 18 OPEN UNAFFILIATED RING: For those who compete regularly are ineligible to compete in the encourage ring. 19 You may compete in either Hack or Hunter –NOT both 20 Competitors from all rings can compete in the fancy dress 21 No Dogs to be brought on to the grounds. 22 There is to be no lunging of horses on the grounds whatsoever. 23 Holes dug and any other damage to the grounds incurred by horses and visitors will be asked to rectify the damage 24 Only vehicles with floats attached will be permitted to park on the grounds. 25 Yards reserved for horse & ponies ridden onto the grounds with no vehicles to tether to. Yards must be cleaned and

chain fastened when leaving. 26 All riders must present to the secretary’s office before riding. 27 Hot Weather Policy If temp is above 34 degrees reported by Channel 9 on 6pm news the night before, will be a morning

event only, if above 37 degrees, event will be postponed In the interest of safety and as part of our commitment to risk management the following rules will apply for

leading rein classes and led riders. 1. The handler is to lead the rider from the near side of the pony/mount. 2. The handler is to remain as close as possible to the girth, level with the rider and ready to assist the rider if needed. 3. The handler will hold the lead in the left hand, leaving the right hand free to be of most value, a safety net to the rider. 4. Leads must be attached to the noseband or halter –NOT to the bit. 5. Snaffle bridles with cavesson nosebands only. No chains allowed. 6. Handlers must wear suitable footwear. 7. ‘Monkey’ or neck straps are encouraged. 8. Horses not in control of a competent handler will be asked to leave the ring and remove the rider from the pony/mount.
