Overview

A. Spielvogel is a game that is based on the natural hunting pattern of the antlion species.

You play as an ant trying to escape from the clutches of an antlion’s trap.

Gameplay

The W, A, and D keys is given for movement.

Landslide two rows if moving vertically.

Field: 6 by 12 square grid

Landslide one row if moving horizontally.

Problems

The game mechanics is very simplistic, but the whole process is based on chance.

Players don’t know why landslide happens and how to prevent it.

Problems

Targets the conqueror player style and the survivor player style

No apparent draw for a socialiser player

Next Steps

Introduce a random sand generator that induced a landslide if touched

“Button-mashing”

Musical aspect to give the game a proper ambient feeling of doom and chance.

Surprise button to dodge an incoming landslide

Alternative Iterations

Introduce multiple options for multiplayer or party modes

Possibility of adding multiple players assuming the roles of multiple ants in the game

Introduction of an aiming system for the randomly generated sand
