I am continually proud of the Music Ministry each year during the Christmas Season. Very much of what we do in the worship services is "decorated" by the music that is presented. Thanks to all who participated: preschool choir, children's choir, sanctuary choir, Christmas Eve choir, soloists, pianists, organist, instrumentalists, handbells. It was a very special season. January is JOIN A CHOIR month. Here we are beginning a new year with many musical opportunities in front of us. I have talked about Monday Morning Ministries from the pulpit week after week. This special fellowship time is available to everyone who has Monday mornings without obligations. This group does not have an age limit! While, at this point in time, we sing hymns for the first hour, have prayer for our church family and friends, enjoy an informative program relating to our stages of life, and have lunch together, it is all about the fellowship. Please con-sider joining this faithful group on Monday morning at 10:30. On Monday, January 7, we will leave the church at 10 a.m. and go by bus to Salerno Bay to sing with the residents there. This is generally followed by lunch together at some nearby restaurant. We hope to see you on Monday morning. (This would be a valuable New Year's resolution, if you are look-ing for one!)
Children's Choirs and AWANA begin on Wednesday, January 9, 6 -7:30 p.m. Adult Handbells begin at 6 p.m. and Sanc-tuary Choir is at 7:30 p.m. Sharon and I count it a blessing to be part of North Stu-art Baptist Church and we wish for all of you God's richest bless-ings and a very Happy New Year. Tickets are on sale in the church office for GREATER VISION, in concert, February 10, 3 p.m. Cost is $20.
Several years ago my brother offered some advice on how to help a church grow. He’s a salesman and not a pastor, but his insight was brilliant. “If you want your church to grow,” he said, “just get everybody to get one person to join the church over the next year. In a year your church will double. Simple.” Well, maybe not that simple, but the idea is sound. Think of the change in our church if each of us made a commit-ment to the goal of helping a friend find their way to faith in Jesus and full participation in the church. What if you committed yourself to regularly bringing friends and neighbors with you to church? Invite your friend to join you for worship, to sing with you in the choir, to attend your Sunday morning Bible study, or even join you on a mission trip. Let them see Christ at work among and through his people. Help them gain a sense of be-longing in the community of faith even as their faith in Christ is developing. To help all of us become better equipped and more comfortable with sharing the gospel with our friends we will be watching a four-week video study entitled, Just Walk Across the Room. The study will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday eve-nings in January starting on the 9th and concluding on January 30. Here’s what is written about the study:
“In this four-session series, award-winning author Bill Hybels signals the next era in personal evangelism with Just Walk Across the Room. Drawing on fresh perspectives from the au-thor’s own experiences, as well as time-tested and practical illustrations, this curriculum encourages and equips people to develop friendships, discover stories, and discern next steps with those who don’t know Christ.”
I hope you’ll make participating in this study a high pri-ority as together we commit to becoming more faithful and ef-fective witnesses for Christ. And while you’re at it, why not in-vite a friend to come with you?

Awana Clubs will resume Wednesday, January 9, 2013.
Great Family resources for the New Year: Plug & The Paddywhacks is an interactive storybook series for kids, delivered monthly to your iPad®, iPhone®, or iPod touch® with a Re-demptive Story. A tale of two worlds in the tradition of C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, Plug & The Paddywhacks is an epic adventure that illustrates the effect of our choices, the power of redemp-tion, and the difference one person can make in the world.
Awana is excited to provide you with a tool that helps you share the gospel with others. Our ministry is all about evangelism, and that is why we’ve created an app to help you communicate your faith. This versatile app includes three different versions so you can modify the gospel presentation for adults, teens or children. So no matter who you’re talking to, you’ll always know just what to say. awana.org/apps/gospel-app,default,pg.html
