Annunciation School Newsletter
December 14, 2016
Annunciationbvm.org The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one
and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
Dear Parents,
I look forward to seeing each of you at the Christmas programs next week. The program
is always such a festive event that will put a smile on your face and put you in the Christmas
spirit. The program on Tuesday will start at 10:15 a.m. featuring our primary students in
Preschool through 3rd
grade. On Wednesday, the program starts at 9:45 a.m. featuring
Kindergarten through 8th
grade. Today you will receive your tickets to the Wednesday show; no
tickets are needed for Tuesday’s performance. Thank you to our teachers who work very hard to
prepare their students for the performance. I would also like to thank Mrs. Patti Brouch, the true
producer of the show, for all her efforts arranging practice times, coordinating the musical
performers, and organizing tickets and seating.
Last week our junior high students had the privilege of providing service to our
community at our annual Advent service day. Below are some pictures of their day.
This is the last newsletter before Christmas break begins on Wednesday, December 21.
On behalf of the Annunciation faculty and staff, I would like to wish you and your family a
blessed Christmas season. May the birth of our Savior fill your home with peace and joy! Enjoy
the time off with your families and we look forward seeing all the children in 2017!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jennifer Wardynski
This Friday, December 16, is Spirit Day. Students may dress in Annunciation Spirit Wear or the
Annunciation colors of blue and white for free. Students choosing not to participate should wear
the school uniform. All students will have a free Red and Green Dress Down Day on
Wednesday, December 21. In addition, students in the primary building will have a free dress
down day on Tuesday, December 20 because they will be performing in their Christmas program
that day.

newsletter. Please turn your form and money into the office by Thursday, December 15th.

Dismissal on Wednesday, December 21 is at 11:55. Christmas break begins at that time.
There is no after-school daycare on December 21st. School resumes on Wednesday, January
4. There will be no all-school Mass on January 4 and students in grades 1, 3, 5, and 7 will not
attend the 8:00 a.m. Mass on Thursday, January 5 as a class.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Tuesday, December 20 and Wednesday, December 21 our annual Christmas programs will
take place in the gym.
Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st, 2
nd, and 3
rd grade will give a performance on Tuesday,
December 20 at 10:15 a.m. The upper building students will not participate in this
program. There will be no tickets required for this performance and anyone is invited to
attend. Outside doors and gym doors will open promptly at 9:45 a.m. If you only
have students in the primary building, please make plans to attend this show. You
will not be receiving tickets to the show on Wednesday, December 21.
On Wednesday, December 21, grades kindergarten through third will give another
performance and will be joined by students in grades 4 – 8. Preschool will not participate in this
show. This show will begin at 9:45 a.m. Outside doors and gym doors will open promptly
at 9:15 a.m.
Families with their oldest child in grades 4 – 7 will receive 3 tickets to the December 21st
show. These tickets are being sent home in a pink envelope today. Tickets will be collected
at the door. Every person who comes to the show on Wednesday must have a ticket. This
includes children and infants who may be sitting on your lap. The reason for this is we
must control the number of people in gym to comply with the fire code. If you need more
than three tickets, please call the office and we will put your name on a waiting list for
tickets. If you are not going to use all of your tickets, please return any extras to the office
Eighth grade students will, as is traditionally done, be allowed to invite parents and grandparents
to sit in reserved seats in the front for the Wednesday show. These tickets are also being sent
home today in a pink envelope.
If you would like to record your child’s performance, please do so from the back of the
gym. Please do not raise Ipads, phones, or cameras from your seats as you will block the
view of the people behind you.

Join fellow Annunciation families on December 15th at Panera Beard on Orchard Road
to help raise funds for Annunciation School. It's a great way to take a break and grab a
quick bite to eat. More information can be found in the flyer at the end of the
newsletter.

As the weather gets colder we would like to remind you of our recess policy so
you may be sure your children are dressed appropriately.
All students go outside in the morning before school begins and at recess
unless the wind chill is below 10 degrees. In order to go off the blacktop and
play in the snow, students must be wearing snow pants and snow boots. If the
wind chill is below 10 degrees, students are allowed to enter the buildings at
8:15 a.m. and stay in for recess.

Parish/School Cookie Drive
Our 2016 cookie outreach to fellow parishioners was very successful thanks to all
of you!! Bakers, we delivered your wonderful creations wrapped in a hug and a
prayer to members of all our community, including Fire Station #9, the Aurora
Police Department, our choir, rectory and school staff, Marmion Monks, Knights
of Columbus, and especially many individual parishioners who were reminded of our caring
Annunciation family and Christ’s love. And many thanks to our Bakers, our incredible
Christmas elves, who delivered over 100 boxes of cookies and our volunteers, who boxed and
bowed the bunch! Again, thanks for your outpouring of love to our own this year, and in the 22
years past. Merry Christmas, and God Bless You, The Bakers. Mary Moon, Kathy Tentinger
and Trish Theriault
