Welcome To Annunciation Parish, The Roman Catholic Community of Newington
Whether you are a long-time parishioner, a returning parishioner, a new parishioner, or a visitor, welcome to our
community. We are glad that you are here and hope that you feel at home. If you are not already a member of our
parish, please consider joining us. If you are a member of our parish already, please consider joining one of our
ministries.
The Catholic Church welcomes new members of all ages. Children are welcomed into our faith through the
sacrament of Baptism. Adults can either join our faith, or complete their sacraments of initiation through our
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) or our Adult Confirmation program. If you are interested in any of
these programs, please contact Deacon Jim Tanguay at [email protected] or call
(860) 666-1591, ext. 3.

Adult Education Opportunities
The great Christian writer C.S Lewis once wrote, “Christianity is either very important in your
life or not important at all. The one thing that Christianity cannot be is mildly important”.
Do you know someone who is seeking meaning, importance, and fulfillment in their life? If
so, Annunciation Parish is ready to help.
Annunciation Parish will be offering two adult education opportunities beginning in
September. One program, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) program, is
tailored to those never baptized, those baptized in the Catholic Church and never pursued
the sacrament of First Communion, or those baptized in another Christian denomination who
seek communion in the Catholic Church. The program culminates with receiving the
sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass on April 11, 2020. The second program is an Adult
Confirmation program for those adults who have received the sacraments of Baptism and
Holy Communion but were never confirmed. This program culminates with an Archdiocesan
confirmation ceremony in November of 2019.
If this applies to you or someone you know, please contact the Saint Mary Church rectory
office at (860) 666-1591 extension 3, or send an email to Deacon Jim:
THE DEACON DASHBOARD
O God, who show the light of your truth to
those who go astray, so that they may return
to the right path, give all who for the faith
they profess are accounted Christians the
grace to reject whatever is contrary to the
name of Christ and to strive after all that
does it honor. Through our Lord Jesus
Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with
you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,
for ever and ever. Amen.
