Dear Friends, Maya Angelou said, “When you learn, teach. When you get, give.” This sentiment sums up what a professional association and what a foundation are really all about. The FRPA Foundation continues to give in order to raise up our professionals and to support the pillars of our beloved industry. Now our efforts are being noticed, and rewarded, from outside our circle. The FRPA After School Health initiative is being supported by the Florida Beverage Association in the amount of $25,000. That is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to the work you are doing to improve childhood health.

This past year FRPA debuted the Impact Calculator, providing agencies across the state of Florida a dynamic tool to quantify the value of park programs and lands to a community. The Foundation’s support of that initiative with a grant of $37,500 underscores our commitment to advocacy. Finally, in a legacy program we can all be proud of, the Foundation has now supported the Joe Abrahams Leadership Academy for over 10 years and well over $50,000; training dozens and dozens of professionals who have excelled across the state.

The Foundation relies on your financial support. Donations can be made online, via United Way payroll deductions, and through Amazon Smile. One of our most visible fundraisers is the Annual Online Auction; where you can assist by donating items or by bidding on items…or both.Thank you for helping us make a difference. We look forward to continuing to serve.

Warmly,

Don Decker, PresidentBoard of Trustees
