Lessons Learned (AKA: Articulate the Obvious!) Warn if possible. It’s not a cattle prod. It’s not a surgical instrument. “Piling On” Rule. Count the officers present—plaintiffs do! Articulate/document, with great specificity, efforts to

struggle/resist/escape. Bipolar? Can you spell: C-I-T? Release the trigger—unless you are jump starting something. When they are “done”…they are done! So are you! Bridges—water—mud—ladders—trees? Not good! Handcuffed? What were you thinking?
