CaringWe will be a church that ruthlessly cares for God’s concerns, thereby finding that

God concerns Himself with the things we care for.

EmbracingWe will be a church that is unapologetically inter-generational, multi-ethnic and

grace-giving, where people of every demographic can belong and become what

God intended.

EngagingWe will be a church that fully engages—both individually and corporately—in

care and involvement with the poor and marginalized in Portland.

MentoringWe will be a church that equips people with skills for living—teaching life skills

and providing crisis response in the key domains of people’s lives: marriage,

parenting, career and finances.

In 2011, to continue to live out our faith in such a way that our community takes note that we belong to Jesus—and wants our Jesus—will require greater authenticity and intentionality in who we already are as a Kingdom community:

EquippingWe will be a church that inspires, equips, and resources every member to be

the embodiment of the Kingdom Life in their home, school, social network

and place of work, and unleashes them for the work of ministry within the

church—worship, discipleship, fellowship, and evangelism.

PrayingWe will be a church that fully, regularly and organically engages every

member in both private and corporate venues of prayer. We will be a Spirit-

formed, Spirit-empowered and Spirit-led church that taps into the Divine

resources needed to achieve the unbelievable, impossible dream that God

has placed in our hearts to change our city and our world.

PreparingWe will be a church that gives attention and devotes resources to raising up,

equipping, commissioning and inspiring young leaders to advance the mis-

sion of the church in the next generation.

In light of our Kingdom identity and what we sense to be our season of divine destiny, we will marshal our resources—spiritual, human and financial—to achieve our prophetic vision through the following initiatives:

Eliminating our corporate debt and release our church resources to be a fully missional

church—modeling for the individual members of our church

what it means to live unencumbered and reoriented as fully

engaged citizens of God’s kingdom.

launching a fully accredited Bible school that trains and sends 10-15 people a

year into ministry.

planting 10,000 self-sustaining, self-replicating churches in the foreign con-

text among unreached people in the next ten years, and lead

one million souls to Christ.

sEnding 40% of corporate income annually to ministry beyond PCC and

to inspire our members to missional engagement through

missions giving, short-term foreign mission service, and

regular outreach locally through care and involvement with

the poor.

planting churches, ministries and preaching points with the DNA of Portland

Christian Center throughout our city, enfold struggling congrega-

tions and house churches under our guidance, resources and spiri-

tual covering, and serve as a resource church to strengthen existing

Assembly of God churches in metro Portland.

dEVElOping & launching a prac-tical step-by-step spiritual formation plan, along with supporting Christian Education classes and Dis-

cipleship ministries, that will equip and inspire the PCC laity to take

the next step in their spiritual growth, service within the church,

and outreach to the lost and unchurched of metro Portland.

launching mentoring ministries that

will equip and strengthen husbands and wives in their marriages,

provide life skills and parenting strategies for moms and dads,

coach people with a Biblical action plan for God honoring steward-

ship of their finances, and train, inspire and network the unem-

ployed and under-employed with career guidance.
