"Robust mentoring programs are needed. That means looking for

ideas as per market needs. Seed funding comes next. This is essential

for innovative engineering startups ready with prototypes for industry

linkage on a perpetual basis."

Dear Patron,

Greetings from CEED!

Chitkara University Centre for Entrepreneurship and Education Development was formed on

15th May 2016. We came active with our events in May end 2016 with our first major event

Startup Weekend. This three day event conducted at our sprawling campus at Chitkara

University marked the beginning of entrepreneurship development and awareness at Chitkara

University. Over 100 students from various streams participated in this Internationally

acclaimed business plan competition. In a short span of 11 months we have been able to

conduct over 40 events and sensitize over 2000 students on Entrepreneurship as an alternative

career. With constant mentoring programs and visits of noted Industry Mentors, we have been

able to set a base on entrepreneurship development at our Campus and at our Startup

Incubator in Chandigarh, where we host over 35 Startups.

I thank each and every one who has helped us to build CEED. We specially thank the Chitkara

University Management for having faith in our abilities. I and my team thank team CURIN to

associate with us and support us.

Looking forward to a great next year, 2017-2018.

Best Wishes,

>> ABOUT CEED

We all want to witness India- as a Renewed Nation. Our country has three factors going for it:

the world’s largest youth absorption, the hyper-aspirations of its youth, and their edginess with

comprehending their goals. India needs to create more jobs, India needs more entrepreneurs.

We need to remove barriers for entrepreneurs. AirBnB as an example of a company reduces

barriers for potential hosts and guests to contact each other and rate one another, thus

building a virtuous cycle for business – this model offers a lot of learning for the Indian business

ecosystem. Chitkara University Centre for Entrepreneurship Education & Development

(CUCEED) has indeed imbibed this rhythm of igniting young minds to nurture the Nation’s vision

of STARTUP INDIA-STAND UP INDIA. The journey has just begun with firm footholds to conquer

the plethora of opportunities wherein students, faculty, alumni and community entrepreneurs

get the belongingness of a company.

>> OUR VISION

CEED is enthusiastic to evolving vibrant, viable, principled and socially accountable

entrepreneurs through an all-inclusive slant of global entrepreneurship platform including

entrepreneurial way of discerning, training and constructing confidence for the future members

of our society.

The members through a real-world and hands-on approach to wisdom cultivate amongst

themselves critical entrepreneurial performances and attitudes, advance essential knowledge

and skills, and are able to discourse everyday problems faced by the community.

Swachh Chai

Swachh Chai is a student startup formed by a team of three BE CSE third year students; Divam Wadhwa,

Vedant Singh and Deepak Sharma. Their business idea revolves around the neglected yet most

important section of the society, i.e. local Chaiwala. They feel more potential in their idea as tea is the

STAPLE food of whole India.

You feel like having a cup of tea ..but don't want machine tea... can't locate a

tea stall around... and finally u succeed in finding one but do they

guarantee quality, hygiene?? They wanted to convert our favorite tea stall

to one stop destination of clean, hygienic and tasty tea. In other words,

swatch chai for all.

30% of the total world's tea is consumed in India only. We have tea vendors at every nook and corner,

so they realized that now it's time to digitalize these vendors by connecting them in our chain thereby

uplifting their standard of living and making tea

hygienic for the customers. They are going to

provide them with a particular dress, caps,

gloves, glasses, canopy etc by which they can

improve the way they represent.

Revenue will be generated in three major ways:-

1. By buying bulk tea from new manufacturers

and selling them to tea vendors at price

lesser than MRP.

2. Will build an app through which these

vendors can be located easily. All these tea

vendors can be located through the app.

3. Since these people will be painted and

coloured in brand colours so they would be

able build a franchise in future.

They are ready with a promising profit

generating business model which will have a significant impact in uplifting the potential chaiwala

community of India.

The team has also pitched their idea in UNInflux Global Hackathon Connect2Effect Chandigarh Chapter

in March 2017. They had undergone a live experience by getting an opportunity to serve tea as per their

startup to all the participants for three consecutive days. The opportunity provided by the University has

given them more enthusiasm and clear facts about their startup idea.
