ANALYSIS OF 2017 STATISTICS

KPI Indicators With regard to the level of compliance at a regional level, the number of deficiencies detected was 1,399. Out of this number, 969 deficiencies were rectified this year, which represents 26.55%. The level considered reasonable to reach was set at 60%. The percentage of different ships inspected at a regional vessel reached 63.84%. The level of different ships for inspection considered ideal for the Agreement was set at 40%. The ship with the largest (historical) number of deficiencies was a LIVESTOCK CARRIER, of 40 years old. The historically most common deficiency found corresponds to code 3507 - Maquinas Auxiliares - Auxiliary engine; the action measure most applied in the region was code 17, which accounts for 41.24% of the total.

Inspections by State

In comparison to 2016, there was an increase of 193 inspections carried out. In total, 7739 inspections were recorded whereas the previous year the number recorded was 6826. During this period, detentions experienced an upward trend in comparison to 2016: 51 detentions were recorded, which account for 0.66% of the total of inspected vessels, while in 2016 47 ships were detained, which represents 0.69%.
