ABOUT US

Since the 1920s, Volunteers of America, Dakotas has been serving those who need us the most. Troubled youth, families without child care, those struggling against addiction, and the adolescent who can’t return home can all turn to our supportive and empowering programs. We work with the most vulnerable people in the Dakotas, helping them rebuild whole lives, reach their potential, and become productive members of our communities. We focus on bringing higher levels of care and safety through safe, nurturing environments where individuals and families become healthy and self-sufficient.

Mission StatementVolunteers of America, Dakotas is called by the Gospel to guide people to live healthy and fulfilling lives.

1896 SocietyThe 1896 Society celebrates those who demonstrate a financial commitment to the future of our organization. Reflecting the belief that a dedicated group of individuals can make a special contribution in helping people for many years to come, The 1896 Society brings together individuals with leadership, ability, experience, and influence to support Volunteers of America, Dakotas’ mission with their major financial gifts.

Rise & ShineAt Rise & Shine, our annual breakfast and fundraiser, local businesses, community leaders, and individuals come together to celebrate the mission of Volunteers of America, Dakotas and to learn about the people and programs that help create a bright, positive change in the lives of so many. At our 2017 event, nearly 900 individuals and 73 corporate sponsors raised $284,510.
