TIMO

TIMO, or Training In Ministry Outreach, is a 2-3 year training program designed to equip men and women for long-term ministry.

Who can serve? TIMO Quest is for singles and married couples with no children.

TIMO provides practical hands-on training while engaging in real, transformational ministry: what you learn in the books you read and the papers you write is reinforced in your day-to-day life as you engage with your community.TIMO is about foundations through deep relationships and active discipleship.

EMPTIED: We remember that our sufficiency comes from Christ. We serve by his grace, and submit to his will.

RELIANT: Teams are the heart of how we function. We never go alone, acknowledging the value of dependence and the beauty of fellowship laid out for us in God’s design.

PRESENT: We show up, stay long, and go deep. Seeking to reach people in their context determines where and how we live.

CURIOUS: We come as learners – humble, patient, with open hearts and minds.

ABO DIRECTOR:Ensuring relevance in all aspects of the Africa Based Orientation

Program to all new members.

AFRICAN MOBILIZATION CONSULTANT:Building an Africa wide database for the effective mobilization

of Africans to cross cultural church planting.

CHILD SAFETY OFFICER:Ensuring that we are reducing risks for our children and the

children we are ministering to.

CRISIS CONSULTANT:Ensuring risk assessments and contingency plans

are in place for all personnel.

HEALTH CONSULTANT:Helping AIM be strategic in placing and

utilizing healthcare personnel.

INFORMATION STRATEGIST:Providing IT solutions and strategies for members and ministries.

LANGUAGE ACQUISITION CONSULTANT:Offering encouragement, resources and prayer about language learning issues

MANI CONSULTANT:Coming alongside African Missionary Initiatives

in Francophone Africa.

TCK (THIRD CULTURE KIDS) CONSULTANT:Consulting in all matters related to the

education of children on the field.

TESOL CONSULTANT:Providing resources and help for people teaching English as a ministry platform.

THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION CONSULTANT:Helping AIM, theological educational institutions,

educators and the church in Africa.

TRAINING AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CO-ORDINATOR:Ensuring effective and appropriate

leadership development across AIM.

THE SOUTH ASIANS OF EAST AFRICA

The majority of South Asians live in the big cities - Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, and Kampala. Most of them

are involved in business.

DATOOGA IN TANZANIADatooga is the name of the large group to which the Barabaig and Taturu belong - there are possibly 16 groups or clans. They were formerly nomadic.

• Pray for the many Christians of Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar and Uganda to show the love of God to the South Asians with whom they come into daily contact.

• Ask God to give His people the desire to pray and reach out for the sake of the Kingdom of God.

• Pray they would be strong in the Lord and anointed evangelists.

• Bible stories being translated and shared and that this will bear much fruit.

• Ask the Lord to continue to build His church among the Datooga.

THE NDUA OF MOZAMBIQUE

The Ndau live in the Zambezi Valley of Central Mozambique all the way to the coast.

Ndau are descendants of ancient Mozambican warriors, who intermarried with the local population.

Their religion is Animism.

ON DISTANT SHORES: church-planting among the Antakarana and Sakalava people

on the Madagascar island of Nosy Mitsio.

Rosina serves as Unit Leader in Madagascar, and is involved in ministry work among the Sakalava people in Nosy Be.

Matilda is involved in the Madagascar unit’s goal of training Malagasy missionaries, doing some English teaching and Bible classes with the students and participating

Zeka & Anita have taken study leave in Namibia for two years, as Zeka works on his Masters in Global Leadership.

MABA PEOPLE OF CHAD

History: In modern Maba society, chiefs and members of the royal class still

possess a high degree of prestige and power.

Culture: Although they are Muslims, people live in fear, using amulets and charms to ward off evil and sickness. They are primarily farmers, growing millet and wheat, as well as raising horses, goats, sheep, and chickens. The Sultan serves as head of state of the region and rules through governors and district chiefs. The Queen Mother is highly

esteemed and has great influence.

Religion: Folk Islam

LESOTHO This marginalised group are being reached out to by our AIM missionaries. Their primary goal is to share the gospel with the shepherd boys and men in the highlands.

• Pray for more missionaries to be open and willing to live for a while among the shepherd boys and share their faith with them.

• Pray that the shepherds will clearly understand and hear the voice of God when they listen to the recordings.

AMOS PETERSEN

Amos completed a ST Diaspora mission assignment in Spain in which he took part in the Dream Team activities in Jerez and Malta over two weeks. He has now completed his masters in theological studies and FT application. His FT mission assignment will be in DR. Please pray for continued support raising, settling in,

language learning and quick adaptation to his DR team.

CREATIVE ACCESS NATIONS We use the phrase ‘Creative Access Nations’ (CAN’s) to refer to nations, areas or peoples where traditional ‘m work’ or even declaring yourself as a ‘m partner’ is not possible. At present we have a creative access mobiliser, working full time from our Cape Town office. Pray that God will raise up more workers for Creative Access (CX) contexts. Pray that God will direct us as we align Business as Mission (BAM) opportunities with UPG ministry.

The South African Mobilizing Council are the legal guardians of AIM South Africa. The Mobilizing Office strives to provide member care, equip, partner and send short and full time missionaries. We also communicate news to generate prayer and financial support. We praise God for the many donors and prayer supporters who uphold the
