Building and/or program closing: There has been much confusion on what our policy is for closing the building and/or cancelling programs. The Township officials will make the decision if our building is closed. It is NOT based on the schools closing. It is a rare occasion that our building actually closes. The best way to check is on the website at www.ytown.org or by calling 734-544-3800. The lunch program IS cancelled when the Ypsilanti Community Schools are closed. If you are a regular attendee you will get a call from Gladys or a volunteer. You can also call 734-544-3838 after 8:30am. The WCC classes are cancelled when the Washtenaw Community College is closed or if the instructor chooses to cancel. You will only get a call if the instructor cancels. Enhanced Fitness is cancelled if the area public schools are closed. You will not get a call. 50 & Beyond classes (not art classes) are cancelled if the Ypsilanti Community schools are closed. Tina makes the decision if her art classes are cancelled and will get in touch with her students.

Shrek, the musical LIVE on stage!! Sunday August 4 12:30-6:00pm All seats $45.00 Includes transportation, lunch and the LIVE show.

Set in a mythical “once upon a time” sort of land, the story of a hulking green ogre who, after being mocked and feared his entire life by anything that crosses his path, retreats to an ugly green swamp to exist in happy isolation. Suddenly, a gang of homeless fairy-tale characters (Pinocchio, Cinderella, the Three Pigs, you name it) raid his sanctuary, saying they’ve been evicted by the vertically challenged Lord Farquaad. So Shrek strikes a deal: I’ll get your homes back, if you give me my home back! But when Shrek and Farquaad meet, the Lord strikes a deal of his own: He’ll give the fairy-tale characters their homes back, if Shrek rescues Princess Fiona. Shrek obliges, yet finds something appealing–something strange and different–about this pretty princess. He likes her. A lot. But why does she always run off when the sun sets?
