CCLI #421482 ANNOUNCEMENTS Westwood Women on a Mission—With only two months left in this year’s program planning, the Westwood Women on a Mission still have a lot going on! Please join us on Wednesday, April 6 at 10 a.m. in Whitten Hall to help finish our mission project of clay pot people for the residents of Manor Care. We have 25 pot people to complete, so will need plenty of willing hands. Church Family Night—Join us this Wednesday, April 6, for a potluck dinner. Bring a dish or two to share; drinks and tableware will be provided. No reservations are needed. After the meal, David Kepley will join us to share on the theme of greening the church. 5 Million Meal Food Fight—We are asking all small groups (Sunday school classes, Women/Men on Mission, etc.) to select a 2.5 hour period during May 13-15 to pack food as part of our joint effort with Feed My Starving Children and the NorthStar Church Networks. Registration and additional information can be found at the Welcome Center, on the Westwood website, on the event website at http://www.2016foodfight.com, or by speaking with one of the Westwood coordinators: Jeanette Meyers, Holly Schmitz, Dina Church, and Andre Towner. Sign up today for the Youth Mission Madness Weekend Mission Trip, April 8- 10. Register with forms at the Welcome Center or on the Westwood website or email Andre. The $50 fee covers all costs for the weekend. Please pray for our youth and adults who will be on this trip. Day/Night Bible Study—Our final Day/Night Bible Study for the 2015-2016 school year will be on the book of Proverbs. We’ll be using Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, & Song of Songs for Everyone by John Goldingay. The study will last six weeks beginning on April 11 and 12. The Monday morning sessions will meet in Whitten Hall from 10-11:30 a.m. and will be led by Dr. Abernathy. The Tuesday evening sessions will meet in Room 17/19 from 7-8:30 p.m. and will be led by Rev. Gray. Sign up at the Welcome Center; commentaries are $5. Westwood children are invited to join us at Washington River Farm on Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. Located in Alexandria, River Farm is a historic 25-acre site that was once part of George Washington’s original five farms. It features a special Children’s Garden made up of 13 small themed gardens designed to stimulate children’s interest in plants and nature. Let Rebecca know if you plan to attend. Special Music Program—On Sunday, April 17, the Children’s Choir will present “Spring Fling Thing.” Don’t miss this special program of music. Spring Work Day—Spring is on its way! Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 23, at 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Come prepared to help spruce up areas outside and inside the church. We will have a full list of possibilities to match with your skills and abilities. Nursery care will be provided. Applications for the Don Forester Scholarship are available on the Westwood website and through the church office. High school seniors and current college undergraduates are eligible to apply. Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded this year. Applicants are encouraged to complete and submit their applications no later than May 15. Awards will be made in June. If you have questions, please contact Eddie Maguire, Chairperson of the Forester Scholarship Committee. Flower Dedication—The flowers in the sanctuary today are given to the glory of God by Dennis and Lisa Hunt in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary. Westwood Women on a Mission—With only two months left in this year’s

program planning, the Westwood Women on a Mission still have a lot going on!

Please join us on Wednesday, April 6 at 10 a.m. in Whitten Hall to help finish our

mission project of clay pot people for the residents of Manor Care. We have 25 pot

people to complete, so will need plenty of willing hands.
