THE BIBLE PROJECT

The Worship Life Team, together with your

help, would like to make Bibles available in

the pews. We are asking for a donation of

$10 per Bible. If you would like to order a

Bible in remembrance of a loved one or

special event, book plates will be available.

Donations can be made by designating

“Bibles” on your envelope.

Checks can be made payable to

St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Thank you all

for the

donations of

winter clothing!

Your generosity

will help keep folks warm when the

temperatures drop. We are

especially in need of

winter items for children.

Collection bins are in the

west hallway.

FUNDRAISING UPDATES

As Pastor Justin mentioned last week,

WE DID IT! The ELCA Malaria Campaign

reached its financial goal of $15 million.

Malaria programming has taken place

throughout 13 countries in Africa.

St. John’s has also played a part in

helping the ELCA reach its goal of

$500,000 in the Walk for Water Campaign.

By working together, we have brought

about lasting change!

THANK YOU ST. JOHN’S

IN MAKING A

DIFFERENCE IN OUR

FIGHT AGAINST WORLD

HUNGER

On Sunday, October 18th, St. John’s was

represented by 35 enthusiastic volunteers

who participated in the MERCY MEALS

PACK AWAY HUNGER DAY held at

Divot’s DeVent Center. We had a

wonderful time packing 11,400 meals for

hungry children. Thank you for your time

and thank you to the Benefaction Board for

their generous donation used to purchase

supplies for the packaway event.

QUILTERS UNTIE UNITE! October has 5 Thursdays, so the

quilters know what that means -- Oct. 29 will be a Quilter Potluck

Gathering! (No quilting on Oct. 22). Bring your scissors of choice and a

dish to share. Dear Benefaction Board – Thanks so much for the opportunity

to meet with the Benefaction Fund Committee at St. John’s.

I appreciated greatly the chance to share with all of you the vision and strategies in campus ministry at Midland University. We want to ensure that we always have a full-time ordained campus pastor for our growing number of students and for the whole campus community.

I was impressed with the obvious dedication of the Committee members to their stewardship responsibilities for the Benefaction Fund at St. John’s. We have appreciated very much the special partnership activities we have enjoyed with St. John’s, especially over the past 3 years. God’s blessings to you and all the members of St. John’s in your ministry and service. Sincerely,

Rev. Dr. William Nelson University Minister
