Annex 2. Dataset summary table

2017 | February 1

This document offers an overview of data that are of relevance to marine and coastal biodiversity, including those curated or hosted by UNEP-WCMC. To

date, 128 datasets, databases, and data portals have been identified, with detailed metadata having been created for 69 of these records (compiled in Annex

3). This is an updated1 Annex 2 to the Manual of marine and coastal datasets of biodiversity importance2 (Martin et al. 2014), which collates resources to

provide guidance for users of marine data.

Some of the below listed datasets can be viewed and/or downloaded from UNEP-WCMC’s Ocean Data Viewer3. Information about data layers can be found

in the metadata (if included in Annex 3). More information regarding data access can be sought directly from UNEP-WCMC4 or should be sought from

the named contact organisation. UNEP-WCMC does not distribute all these datasets and, as conditions may change over time, makes no warranty

regarding the accuracy of the information provided in this document.
