DAY 3 – 22nd October

After breakfast you will be picked up at your hotel and be taken on a morning tour of one of the floating markets for which Bangkok is famous. The canals in and around Bangkok are an important method of transport and help to facilitate communication between different areas of the city.

Food is a very important part of Thai culture and you will see mobile food stores selling anything from fruit to barbequed chicken and other delicacies moving around Bangkok on the streets and on the canals.

The afternoon will be spent with lectures and discussions. This will be followed by dinner (not included) and the evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 4 – 23rd October

Evening spent at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

The island of Bali lies 3.2 km (2 mi) east of Java, and is approximately 8 degrees south of the equator. Denpasar is the capital city of Bali Island and is a bustling, multi-cultural city with many temples, palaces and museums and friendly locals.

DAY 5 – 24th October

After breakfast you will be collected at the hotel and be taken on a 4x4 Jeep Safari tour to see west Bali’s beautiful countryside.

Along the way you will see the spectacular rice terraces at Belingbling, mountain scapes and coffee plantations. You will stop at Blehmantung waterfall where you can take a short walk to the top. Your journey will also take you through the traditional Balinese village of Pupuan and Bunut Bolong. From there you will continue onto a rubber plantation where you will stop for a lunch of traditional Indonesian food, tropical fruit and Bali coffee. (Lunch included)

Return to your hotel and overnight.

DAY 6 – 25th October

Check out of your hotel after breakfast and transfer to the airport where you will connect with you flight to Dili, Timor-Leste.

There is a pathway to the summit where the 27-metre-tall statue stands on a globe, commanding one of the best scenic views in the country. The statue was built by the Indonesians as a gift to the Timorese people during the occupation, in 1996.

Return to the hotel and overnight.

DAY 7 – 26th October

08:00 pick up from hotel and depart on hospital and clinic visits. The Guido Valadares National Hospital (Dili National Hospital) is the referral facility for all cases requiring specialized medical assistance or more sophisticated diagnostic techniques.

Bairo Pite Clinic is a non-profit health clinic. The services provided by BPC include maternity and infant care including delivery and vaccinations; diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, malaria, dengue fever and HIV; in-patient services, dental services, health outreach (mobile clinics), and training for local health care workers. For further information, you can visit bairopiteclinic.org. Return to the hotel mid to late afternoon for lectures and discussions.

DAY 8 – 27th October

08:00 pick up from hotel for full day tour travelling along the rugged north eastern coastline of Timor-Leste to Bacau. The drive from Dili to Bacau is, for the most part, breath taking. Suspended midway between the sea and the mountains, the road passes several beaches before crossing a river into the little town of Manatuto.

On your way through Manatuto you travel past the coastal plains, after which the road gradually leaves the coast and climbs into the dry ochre coloured hills. Beyond Manatuto is Vermasse, which is rice country. From there you reach the forested areas around Baucau.

This tour gives the visitor a glimpse of the incredible biodiversity of Timor Leste’s geography.

Return to the hotel and overnight. (Lunch not included).

DAY 9 – 28th October Transfer to the airport and depart for Bali. On arrival in Bali you will transfer to your hotel where you will overnight. Afternoon can be spent at leisure or with lectures and discussions.

DAY 10 – 29th October 06:30 pick up for transfer to the airport in Denpasar where you will fly to Labuan Bajo, Flores Island. Upon arrival you will be met by a local guide and proceed to the harbor. From there you will journey by boat to Rinca Island (a two hour trip). Lunch will be served on board the boat.

When you arrive at Rinca Island you will be taken on a walk through the forests where you can expect to see Komodo Dragons, water buffalo, monkeys, deer and other local wildlife. From there continue to Bidadari Island for swimming and snorkeling before returning to Labuan Bajo for dinner and hotel check- in. (Lunch and dinner included).

DAY 11 – 30th October After an early breakfast check out of the hotel – before transferring to the airport you will visit a local market and Batu Cermin Limestone Cave (Mirror Stone Cave). The cave is set within an impressive prominent rock formation near Labuan Bajo. Through a hole in the cave, rays of light find their way into the cave’s inside walls where they perform a spectacular show of reflected sunlight. This fascinating effect is caused by some slick, mirror-like rock surfaces that reflect the light.

Board your flight to Bali and once in Bali, after a few hours transit time, you will fly from Bali to Bangkok where you will connect with your flight home.
