Lived on a small farm with
both of his parents
He had no siblings; he was an only child.
He went to Phoenix Union Colored High School and
graduated with honors!
Soon after he graduated, he was drafted to the U.S army
He then went through many
years of college.
Family Life !
*He got married to Lonnie.
*He never had any kids.
*His inventionsand
Accomplishments.
Emmett’s invention was the detection of
Adenosine Triphosphate and Bioluminescence.
He also got 14 U.S. patents.
*Job History
First job• After college, he
worked as an instructor at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennesse for three years.Most important job
• Chappelle joined NASA as a part of the Goddard Space flight center. He retired in 2001.

Cool Army Facts• While in the
Army, Chappelle was reassigned to the all black 92nd infantry division and served in Italy.

*What I Have Learned
* In conclusion, I learned a lot during this project. I learned to never give up on your dreams. I also learned to put hard work into everything you do and you will succeed. Finally, I learned there are inventions all around that you don’t notice; and once you do, it is awesome knowing something most do not know.
