How Ruminants help our garden ecosystem
Sheep and goats are part of the cycle in our Garden. They eat the unwanted weeds and
grass which cycles through their four stomachs. When it is transforms into
manure, we can utilise it as fertiliser and spread it through our Garden to start the cycle again. Their manure is also used in
the composting process.

How chickens help our garden
Chickens are an essential part of our Garden’s ecosystem. They eat the unwanted worms and bugs which helps us and keeps them healthy. We feed them food scraps that otherwise would have gone to waste so they have a diet that consists of more then chicken feed. They lay eggs which we sell to staff to help fund our Garden. Their manure can be used as fertiliser or in the
composting process.

How Guinea pigs and rabbits help our Garden Guinea pigs and rabbits help our ecosystem by eating the unwanted weeds and grass in our
Garden. They provide a learning experience for the younger children by teaching them about
growth and basic care of animals. Their manure can be used as fertiliser or in the composting
process.
