Please note that no decision has been made to date and at present there have only been discussions with the league to determine if this move is suitable for our club. Should the Angle Vale Football Club choose to move to the Adelaide Plains League, essentially there will be minimal impact on our junior teams and we would continue to affiliate with the current NEMJFA league given they offer a broader range of playing groups for our ever-growing junior teams. The APFL fields Senior Men’s A&B teams, U17 and U14 and as NEMJFA stops at U16, this negotiation with a different league may see our juniors develop broader skills within a different league as they progress to the senior competition. Furthermore there are many benefits should the club choose to affiliate with country league as it will offer a one day one club culture as well as a more combined family orientated environment, will bring in additional revenue for the club and will allow our club to be provided with more support from the league in regards to our senior teams and upcoming junior teams within that league. The next step for the Angle Vale Football club is to discuss this pro- posal at a broader level where all questions/concerns will be answered. We open this opportunity to all members to attend a fo- rum next Tuesday 18th August at 7pm in the club rooms, where we will have Brad Busch—President Adelaide Plains Football League on hand to answer any questions along with members from our Execu- tive Committee.

Affiliation with the Adelaide Plains Football/Netball League

Some of you may have seen recent media attention in regards to the Angle Vale Football & Netball Clubs proposed affiliation with the APFL/APNA league for 2016. Women’s News We played Western Suburbs Hawks again last Sunday with them coming out to our home ground this time round. Final Score AVFC 26.18.174 to WSH 1.0.6

Goal Kickers

L Burrows—12, T Franklin—4, A Killeen—3, C Jensen, M Varcoe, R Millman, T Bugeja, J Roberts, R Allen & F Mansell—1 each

BOG: L Burrows, T Franklin, S Ellis, M Varcoe & C Mewett.

Another fantastic effort by the team. Everyone worked hard and we need to maintain this for the remainder of the season. Next week we take on Morphettvile Park on Saturday night 6.30pm at HOME. Another Triple Header with the mens sides so looking forward to a great day/night at the club.

The senior men took on Houghton last Saturday at their home ground in what was an interesting day of football. The boys went out with hopes of a competitive game how-ever there were a few incidences which effected the way in which the game was played. Unfortunately during the Re-serves match young Chris Scanlon was taken by ambu-lance with suspected neck injury.

Reserves final score: AVFC 3.1.19 to HDFC 22.18.150.

Goal Kickers: B Miles, J Buttle, D Ryles

BOG: J Alderson, B Miles, D Ryles, R Warren & S Nemes

The A grade also had a tough match in what was a very physical game which resulted in a few discussions between officials and spectators. Final Score AVFC11.5.71 to HDFC 19.7.121.

Goal Kickers: P Dudley—3, C McKellar—2, A Briggs, A Varcoe, A Smallacombe, S Clegg & K Rickard— 1 each

BOG: A Varcoe, A Smallacombe, C Stephens, L Krings-berg & A Cummings

This weekend the boys play their last game at HOME for the season.

Reserves—12.15pm against North Pines

A Grade—2.15pm against Salisbury West

Unfortunately neither team has a shot at finals so will play to their hearts content this weekend. Thanks to all who have supported the men throughout the season and we look forward to a fresh start next year.

Senior Presentation Saturday 26th September 7pm at Civic Centre, Elizabeth. Tickets can be purchased from Jon or Stacey. Hope to see everyone there.
