Hometown: Suwanee, Georgia

Grade: College Freshman

School: Brigham Young University - Idaho

Shooting Discipline: AssistantInstructor for Rifle and Pistol,Instructor for Archery

Shooting Experience: I started shooting when I was about 14. At age 16 I took the NRA Basic Pistol Course and there I really fell in love with shooting. It helped that all the instructors kept handing me different guns when we were shooting for fun at the local gun range. I have shot many different handguns ranging from a .22 all the way up to the Judge and the 357 Long Barrel Revolver. Once I fell in love with shooting I started taking the NRA instructor courses. I am currently an Assistant Instructor for both rifle and pistol. I really enjoy teaching others about gun safety and showing males that shooting is not a gender specific sport and that females can shoot just as well as males or maybe even better. I have helped with several NRA Instructor and Basic courses for pistol and rifle. I have helped on the range for many of the BSANortheast Georgia Council, Shooting Sports events and I am on the Council Shooting Sports Steering Committee. In the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program I have attained the Marksman Level for both rifle and pistol.

I am a certified archery instructor and served as an Assistant Archery Director for 5 weeks at Camp Comer in the Greater Alabama Council. There I helped teach the Archery Merit Badge to over 80 Scouts and helped them become proficient in archery shooting skills.

Hobbies: Shooting, C.O.P.E, Climbing, Teaching and Making Smoothies

Future Plans: I plan on completing my education at BYU-I with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Once I have that degree, I would like to get a job as either a Corporate Trainer or a Motivational Speaker. If that doesn’t work out initially I will teach elementary school while pursuing opportunities as a Corporate Trainer and Motivational Speaker.

The BNYSSA offers youth cash awards, camaraderie, travel, introductions to national shooting sports celebrities and career opportunities.
