The main aim of this project was to create an appropriate setting for the Art Literature in the library of Stara Rzeźnia (The Old Abattoir House) in Poznan, Poland.Users of modern devices, such as computer screens, tablets and mobile phones are subjected to factors which disturb their focus. I wanted to create a special space that young people would want visit. A place where they would be encouraged to read traditional books. The interior consists of a cafe, cloackroom and W. C. which was created as a new-build. This space was design as a buffer area, where visitors, coming from the noisy streets of big city, could relax in quiet atmosphere before entering to the library. This area was created to give visitors the opportunity to enjoy refreshments from the coffee bar without the necessity to go any further into the building. The original interior of the building boasts an interesting design. For this reason I have made an adaptation using materials and elements that will preserve it’s character. The new-build’s simplicity compliments the surrounding historical architecture.

WATER RIBBON
Water Ribbon is a recreational pavilion that is designed to provide people with a place to relax by the water and far away from the city rush. The inspiration for this project was a jetty, the type that could be often found on a lake. The central part of the pavilion is designed as a space where people can enjoy the water. Visitors would be able to swim and take a bath or shower here. From the terrace they could observe and delight in the surrounding nature as the building is completely open on one side. The main architectural foundation is composed off two ribbons - the first acts as a frame, creating fundamental form. The second, smaller one, separates the leisure part of the building from restroom facilities. In order to emphasize this unique arrangement I used two different types of exotic wood: bangkirai and cumaru. These kinds of timber are very strong, durable and have weather-resistant properties which makes them well suited for outdoor use. The overall feel of the interior should be informal. It should be a place where people come to unwind and destress.

Around the Grain is a restaurant that is located in the city center of Poznan. It is part of a modern office building called “okrąglak”. The overall theme of the restaurant is greatly influenced by the slow food movement. It is an alternative to fast food movement which promotes traditional and regional cuisine and encourages using products form local farmers and livestocks. The restaurant’s menu is based on grits, which until lately was one of the most popular dishes in the Greater Poland region. The main purpose of the design was to encourage people to rediscover this type of food and to take a break from the rush and intensity of big city life. This is a place where tradition, new-trends and sustainability meet and create a homely atmosphere. The natural, minimalist materials and colours that are used throughout the interior such as wood, plywood and concrete compliment the theme.
AROUND THE GRAIN
The restaurant itself is spread across two floors. On floor -1 there is a dining space and on floor -2 there are service spaces. The dining space is divided in two parts, first one for customers and second for personnel. The arrangement follows the round plan of the building. The tables are located next to the windows and in the niches, providing more private space. The bar has a form of an island, giving the stuff a convenient access to both floors.

WEEKEND HOUSE
Weekend House is a three bedroom bungalow that I have designed to be used as a family home. It is located in a small village, about 30 km east of the city of Poznań, called Złotniczki. The dynamic shape of the house is a result of an analysis of the lengthened plot and the natural influences of it’s setting (water, forest and a hilly topography). Its form is unusual and features a lot of dynamic, diagonal lines - some might even say that it resembles a yacht. Outside visitors can taken beautiful views from the terraces and observation deck which is located on the roof. The bungalow is open planned, with the living room, dinning room, kitchen and staircase being situated in the main room. The bedrooms, bathroom and utility rooms are arranged in the second section of the building. My vision here was to create a large open space for the adults and their guests to enjoy their time, without disturbing the younger members of the family, who may require calmer and more traditional sleeping spaces.
The house is fully-equipped with all the home comforts and features that a four person family could require in order to live comfortably. The fact that there is both heating and air-conditioning means that the building could be unhabited all-year round. It’s interior showcases large, glass surfaces which allow sunlight to flow through every room. What is more the floor to celling windows and skylights allow the inhabitants to admire the view of the lake, the forest and the sky. The finishing materials that are used in Weekend House compliment the surrounding nature seamlessly. The interior colour palette is rather subdued as predominantly neutral whites, beiges and greys are used.As a contrast, and to add some energy to the neutral décor I have added some splashes of bright colour (oranges and reds) in the form of furniture.
AN APARTMENT FOR A SINGLE PERSON
This project is a modern flat destined for single person who lives life to the fullest in a big city. The space is not huge, as the potential tenant spends a lot of time either at work, at university or out and about. The kitchen and bathroom are located in the centre of the apartment (as part of an island arrangement). The bedroom, living room and the dinning room enclose the central area. This configuration is used to separate the private sections of the apartment from the communal space. It has all the most important functionalities for a single person in a really small area. The island layout is a result of numerous tests on how to efficiently arrange small spaces. This project features a daring, asymmetric layout where I made use of an eccentric décor that I think would appeal to my target buyer. It’s modern and bold interior is a reflection of the personality of the potential inhabitant. I created the concept to be used as a module for a multifamily building or an apartment complex.
ANALYSIS of THE moST memorableSCENE :THE PIANO Directed by Jane campion
This work is my interpretation of one scene from The Piano movie. This part shows mute woman called Ada alone with her child are landing on a wild and foreign island of New Zealand. They only have few luggage and a piano, which in the mother’s case is the sole means of communicating with a world. As a result she is very attached to the instrument. When the night is beginning to fall, she doesn’t look for shelter. She can’t leave the piano outside alone. Ada would stay there, looking after the instrument and wait for help from her husband-to-be.The juxtaposition of sensitive and fragile women and the immensity of nature is deeply moving for me.I would like to show these feelings in my model. Curved lines represent the gentleness of a woman and greatly contrast the daring divisions as the power of nature. Lighting may greatly affect the appearance of the model, change it considerably and even create new shape.
SPA IN THE LANDSCAPE
Spa in the landscape is a spatial project which could be realized in a city. It is aimed at transforming existing places which need revitalization. The project consist of irregular glass objects based on trapezium. They are various height, but at least two meters, because these should have to cover human. By using glass with various transparency and reflecting surfaces reaches to infiltration a real and unreal world. I used random arrangement of the objects to intensify surprise effect. Everybody who goes past The Spa involuntarily takes part in a game. The rules are very simple. Walk past and look around. Instantly you get the impression that you are in a kaleidoscope. This picture shows where the project could be situated. It is Wroclawska, a street in central Poznań, one of the most crowded and busiest place in this city.
TWIST BAG
Twist bag is universal handbag which can be both spacious shopper and smart clutch depending on the situation. It can be worn all day and in the evening can transform it in more elegant clutch. If one would like to change its size, only one simple move needs to be done – just a twist. This bag doesn’t follow trends, it’s black and grey leather and minimalist. This is universal design which will suit a busy woman, classic and timeless.
PARADISE DRESS
Paradise Dress is a summer dress. It is the result of my experiments with fashion modeling. The inspiration of the project was an exotic flower - birds of the paradise from which the project was named. Organic influence is clearly visible in it’s texture and colour. The asymmetric unusual shape which accentuates the curves of woman means that nobody can fall to notice it.
Penta project is the response to the needs of various users- the needs that are not catered for by information terminalsoff ered on Polish market. It is a universal terminal, available for people with diff erent levels of ability due to setting touchscreenson two levels of height. An additional advantageis a possibility of using the terminal by two or more peoplesimultaneously. The mobile seat enables the use of lower monitor in a comfortable manner.A pentagonal form of terminal was a direct result of itsfunctionality. The functionality renders it attractive and visible in space. Penta draws attention by sending a clear message concerning its importance on university’s map.
