Students will be working in the construction sector, and studying on a day-release basis. The course is also suitable for people already working in the construction industry who wish to continue their studies on a part-time basis.</p><p>At the end of the course you will gain a BTEC Level 3 90 credit Diploma inConstruction and the Built Environment(equivalent to 1.5 A Levels).</p><p>This course forms part of the States Apprenticeship Scheme. However, if you are not a States apprentice, you can still join the course if you fulfil the entry requirements.</p><p>Entry requirements</p><p>Minimum:</p><p> Four GCSEs including maths, science and English at grade C or above </p><p> Advanced craft certificate or Level 3 advanced construction award/trade qualification </p><p> Level 2 diploma in construction (merit grade profile required)</p><p>Assessment methods</p><p>Assessment is based on successful completion of assignments,tests and observation based on the nineunits of study.</p><p>Progression opportunities</p><p>Successful completion of the course withat least a merit grade profile will allowdirect progression to the Level 4 HNC inConstruction &amp; the Built Environment(subject to successful interview).</p><p>Units</p><p>Year 1</p><p> Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction and the Built Environment </p><p> Mathematics in Construction and the Built Environment </p><p> Building Technology in Construction </p><p> Surveying in Construction and Civil Engineering</p><p>Guernsey College of Further Education</p><p>Year 2</p><p> Science and Materials in Construction and the Built Environment</p><p> Measuring, Estimating and Tendering Processes in Construction and the Built Environment </p><p> Computer-aided Drafting and Design for Construction </p><p> Employment Framework in the Built Environment (Specialist units are subject to change at the discretion of the Course Leader).</p><p>Course duration</p><p>Two years part-time on a day release basis.</p><p>Campus</p><p>Les Ozouets.</p></li></ul>
