Additional learning supportAs part of your learning programme, if you have not yet achieved a grade C or equivalent in Mathematics and English Language you will be required to study a Functional Skill or GCSE in these subjects.
Students may require additional support for a number of reasons. At the start of your course you will be asked to complete an initial assessment in order for us to identify any additional needs that you may have. During your course your personal tutor will be able to guide you on how best to access support.

BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Construction & the Built Environment
Course outline
This course is designed for students intending to pursue a professional career in construction. Students will be working in the construction sector, and studying on a day-release basis. The course is also suitable for people already working in the construction industry who wish to continue their studies on a part-time basis.
At the end of the course you will gain a BTEC Level 3 90 credit Diploma inConstruction and the Built Environment(equivalent to 1.5 A Levels).
This course forms part of the States Apprenticeship Scheme. However, if you are not a States apprentice, you can still join the course if you fulfil the entry requirements.
Entry requirements
Minimum:
• Four GCSEs including maths, science and English at grade C or above
• Advanced craft certificate or Level 3 advanced construction award/trade qualification
• Level 2 diploma in construction (merit grade profile required)
Assessment methods
Assessment is based on successful completion of assignments,tests and observation based on the nineunits of study.
Progression opportunities
Successful completion of the course withat least a merit grade profile will allowdirect progression to the Level 4 HNC inConstruction & the Built Environment(subject to successful interview).

Two years part-time on a day release basis.
