Who found Saturn?

• The Greeks first found Saturn with the naked eye in 700 B.C. Gallieo Galliel first found Saturn with a telescope in 1610.In 1655 Christiaah Huygens could see Saturn better and make out the rings.

• Saturn’s gases are helium and hydrogen.

Saturn’s Names and Moons

• The planet Saturn is named after a Roman god. Many of Saturn’s moons are named after titans. Saturn has about 56 moons.

Big Saturn

• Saturn is the second biggest planet in our solar system. Saturn is 75,000 miles wide. You can put 764 Earths in Saturn.

Saturn and the Solar System

• Saturn is in our solar system. Saturn is the 6th planet away from the Sun. Saturn is 888 million miles away from of the sun. Saturn is 800 million miles away from the Earth.

Saturn’s Years and Days.

• A year on Saturn is 30 Earth days. A day on Saturn is 10 hours and 47 minutes.

Cold Saturn

• Saturn is super cold. Saturn’s temperature is -300,500f. You can’t live on Saturn or breath.

Saturn’s Axis and Diameter

• Saturn spins on it’s axis at about 6,200 miles per hour. Saturn’s diameter is 75,000 miles.

Saturn’s Rings

• Saturn’s rings are the most beautiful rings in our solar system. They are made out of rocks covered in ice and snow.

Saturn’s Storm

• Saturn always has a storm. During the storm helium rain falls and strong winds blow.

Travel to Saturn

• It takes 3 years and 2 months to travel to Saturn with a space shuttle. It depends on where Saturn is on it ‘s orbit and how fast the space shuttle goes.
