Andrea Pozza's Trio is a well known band in the Italian Jazz scene since many years. Is also one of the most request rhythm section to comp soloists. Andrea Pozza is developing his rio conception since 2003, when his first trio cd came out for Philology . Since than he recorded six cds with his trio and the last three with Aldo Zunino and Shane Forbes (Drop This Thing New Quiet and Blue Daniel for Dejavu Rec). The repertoire includes Pozza's compositions and standards specially arranged to highlight the interplay between the three musicians and the characteristics of each of them. AND R E A P O Z Z A -‐ P I A N O Andrea Pozza has been an important figure in the international jazz scene for more than 20 years. A graduate of the Nicolò Pagannini Conservatory in his home town of Genoa, Italy, he has appeared on stage with legendary musicians like Harry Sweets Edison, Al Grey, Earl Warren, Slide Hampton, Bobby Durham, Jonny Griffin, James Moody, Charlie Mariano, Chet Baker, George Coleman, Sal Nistico, Scott Hamillton, Lee Konitz, Pat Metheny, Roswell Rudd, Alvin Queen, Joe Chambers, Bobby Watson, Jack Walrath, Ferdinand Povel, John Marshall, Massimo Urbani, New York Voices and others. Pozza's original sound has been inspired by many master jazz pianists including Teddy Wilson, Bud Powell, Bill Evans, Winton Kelly and McCoy Tyner. From 2004-‐2008, Pozza was a member of the Enrico Rava quintet, with whom he recorded "The Words and Days" (2007) for the ECM Label. This quintet performed at prestigious Jazz

Festivals and Concert Halls in France, England, Germany, Spain Portugal, USA, Canada, Brasil, Argentina, Japan and hosted important guest like Roswell Rudd and Pat Metheny. As a member of the Rosario Bonaccorso quartet, Pozza released recently two album "Appunti di Viaggio" (2009) and In Cammino (2011) produced by Auditorium of Roma. He continuosly perform with various groups like the Steve Grossman Quartet, with wohm he performed in London, Paris, and important Jazz Festivals around the world, the Gary Smulian-‐Pete Lukas Quintet, the Scott Hamilton Quartet. He was also a permanent member of the Gianni Basso quartet (the great late italian tenor player) with whom he has recorded many CDs among them a highly acclaimed album dedicated to the music of Billy Strayhorn and together with saxophonist Dick De Graff, he is leading the "Out of the Blue(s)" project. As a leader, Pozza has recorded 9 CDs: "Introducing" for Philology Records, "Plays Ellington, Monk, and Himself" for Gofour Records, "Sweet Lorraine" for the Japan lable VENUS, "Love Walked In" for the English 33Records, "Drop this Thing", "New Quiet", "Blue Daniel" for Dejavu Rec and his last project "Gulls Flight" European Quintet and the last Trio cd "A Jellyfish From The Bosphorus" for ABEAT Records. He is a regular collaborator with Steve Grossman, Scott Hamilton, Bob Sheppard, John Marshall, Ferdinand Povel, Ferenc Nemeth and others . His project the Andrea Pozza European Quintet including important artists like Christian Brewer (alto) and Shane Forbes (drums) from England and Dick DeGraaf (tenor) and Jos Machtel (bass) from Holland. His last Trio cd "A Jellyfish From The Bosphorus" was recorded with Aldo Zunino on bass and Shane Forbes on drums Since 2008-‐2009 he is teaching Jazz Piano, Harmony, Ear Training and Complementary Piano in Milan Conservatory "Giuseppe Verdi" and he teached also in Rovigo Conservatory in 2010-‐2011. Now he teach Jazz Piano and Improvisation Technique in Genoa Conservatory "Nicolò Paganini".
A L D O Z U N I N O -‐ D O U B L E B A S S At the age of seventeen, after studying piano and guitar, he began playing the bass. He began his professional career one year later playing in North Italy with the most representative musicians of the area. In 1992 he won the prize "AICS JAZZ" and began his teaching activities. His concert activity spreads rapidly in several countries: France, Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Spain. The International Festivals and National in which he participated are numerous: Umbria Jazz, Leverkusen, Ivrea, Le Mans, Ascona, Fano, Lugano, Sant'Anna Arresi, Villa Celimontana (Rome) and Genoa Jazz. He also played in "historical" jazz venues like the Birdland Jazz Club in New York, Ronnie Scott's in London, the New Morning in Paris and the Sunset.

Tonolo, Benny Golson, Art Farmer, JimmyCobb, Tommy Flanagan, Joe Chambers, Harry Sweets Edison, Clark Terry, Ben Riley, Albert Heath, Cedar Walton, Nat Adderley, Clifford Jordan, Horace Parlan, Shirley Scott, Conte Candoli, Joe Newman, Lew Tabakin, and many others. He is playing regurarly (since 1995) in the trio/quartet of Steve Grossman, he was part of the trio of Bobby Durham and in recent years in the Francesco Cafiso's quartet.
S H A N E F O R B E S -‐ D R UM S Shane Forbes is one of the most popular drummers in England. At the age of 28 years is already playing in several major bands in both England and Europe. He won the Jazz Radio Station price (by Yamaha) miles as musical talent. Since 4 years he is part of the "Empirical", one of the most important European bands, which won the North Sea Jazz Festival Prize for Best Group in 2007. The Empirical have a recording contract with Courtney Pine's Destin-‐E Records. Despite his young age, Shane Forbes has already worked with many of the most important British jazz musicians. Some of these are: Jean Toussaint, Billy Jenkins, Claire Martin, Robert Mitchell, Mike Carr, Soweto Kinch. He plays often at the prestigious Ronnie Scott's jazz club, where he recently had the opportunity to perform with Dee Dee Bridgewater Quintet.

A consolidated duo, who has performed in the most famous italian and european festivals. Between Pozza and Cigalini there has always been a great musical understanding, which in this project is without a doubt the most fertile ground. The duo produces original songs and a choice of standards that will bring the warmth and vibrancy tipical of most genuine jazz clubs. MAT T I A C I G A L I N I -‐ A L T O S A X Born in 1989, he started playing live when he was only 12 and started teaching music at 15th. For the specialized European critics he is one of the best talent of a new generation of musician. Graduated in saxophone at the Conservatorio "G. Nicolini" in Piacenza with the highest evaluation, Mattia won various prizes and International competitions, among these the Luciano Zorzella National Prize as "Best New Talent", the Massimo Urbani International Prize and others. He recorded his first album as a leader at 18: "Arriving Soon" (Dejavu/Norma Blu) commissioned by the Japanese label "Pony Canion", with Tullio De Piscopo, Fabrizio Bosso, Andrea Pozza and Riccardo Fioravanti.

"Arriving Soon" won the prize as Best Jazz Album in the 2010 -‐ international jazz chart by japanese magazine SWING JOURNAL. "Arriving Soon" has been voted as one of the best albums of 2010 by a panel of critics and journalists for the JAZZIT AWARD 2010 ("100 Greatest jazz Album"). In October 2009 he starts his first Japanese Tour, gaining a great success with both critics and audience. Wonderful reviews have appeared on MUSICA JAZZ Italian magazine, on French magazine JAZZ HOT, and on English Magazines. He reaches maturity with "Res Nova", the second album recorded in 2011 and pubblished by EMI. This album, officially presented during the UMBRIA JAZZ Festival 2011 (Cigalini is the youngest artist playing in the festival), has been a great public and critical success. Umbria Jazz selected his own compositions for making the special Umbria Jazz Compilation, dedicated to 150th anniversary of the Italy Unification, they also selected his own Italy National Himn arrangement. His last album "Beyond" (Cam Jazz) contains songs by artists such Lady Gaga, Shakira, Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Lopez and many more, played in a modern jazz way. The album has been presented in Germany at the Münster International Jazzfestival (with "sold-‐out" audience). In 2013 he performs in New York, with artists such Mingus Big Band, Curtis Lundy, Richard Johhson, Francisco Mela, Peter Slavov, Frank Lacy, Alex Sipiagin, Donald Edwards, in some of the best-‐known jazz clubs in Manhattan. He has also appeared in many TV programs on RAI Television, Vatican National TV (worldwide), RSI TV (Swiss), BBC (UK), etc; interviews for fashion magazines like VOGUE, GQ, popular magazines like Gente, Famiglia Cristiana, Panorama, newspapers like Repubblica, Corriere della Sera. Mattia actually tutor in Jazz Saxophone at the Accademia del Suono in Milan and Swiss National Music Accademy in Switzerland. Mattia collaborates with the greatest Italian and International musicians (like Tom Harrell, Uri Caine, Randy Brecker, Stefano Bollani, Paolo Fresu, and many more), playing in the most famous theatres and festival in Europe and abroad. In 2011 Mattia has been nominated "Ambassador for Human Rights" by ONLUS Association for Human Rights. In 2012 he has been nominated "Citizen of the Year" by his city, Piacenza. Since 2013 he is "Val Luretta Jazz Festival" Artistic Director and founder, an event that brings with great success the finest jazz music to Agazzano, the village where he lives. Mattia Cigalini is international endorser for YAMAHA Saxophones since 2010 (the youngest one), and Vandoren reeds international endorser since 2011.
