History•Swedish Immigrant farmers moved into northern suburb of Chicago in 19th Century
•First school: Andersonville School was built in 1854
•After Chicago Fire, Swedish Immigrants who could not afford brick houses moved outside for northern area
•Commerce: Swedish businesses (hardware, delis, bakeries, shoe stores, blacksmiths)
•Churches= religious diversity
•Commercial Decline during Great Depression• To prevent this, town was named Andersonville Chamber of Commerce

Group Reflections•It is truly amazing how people of different backgrounds come together to form one community
•We were surprised at the immense number of restaurants and landmarks there were in a relatively small area
•Chicago is a diverse city that has something to offer people with all types of interests
•This was an authentic Chicago experience because we were able to appreciate the perks of city-life
