Many in our lake community have suffered losses this past year. Sylvia Lake Associa0onPresident, JamesErnest Jackson,73,ofMonroe,GAandSylviaLakepassedawayonMarch1,2016.JimwasborninGouverneur,NYtothelateRichardJacksonandRosalynStorrinJacksonofGouverneur.HegraduatedfromGouverneurH.S.in1960asanearlyRousescholarshiprecipient.HegraduatedfromClarksonin1964andworkedforCivesCorpora0onformorethan40years.Hemovedhisfamilyacrosscountrymany0mes,buthealwaysenjoyedcominghometoSylviaLakewherehewasalifelongsummerresident.
He was a talented builder, cra`sman and woodworker. He believed in giving back to thecommunitywithhis0me,talentandtreasure.HewasaloyalmemberofRotaryInterna0onal,aleadbuilderforHabitatforHumanityandsupporterofcharitablecauses.HeservedontheSylviaLakeAssocia0onandGouverneurFounda0onboards.His interests includeda life0meofmorethan20adoptedcatsanddogs,cooking,landscapingandgardening,andcrosswords.Ourcondolencestohiswife,Katrenaandtohisfamily,andmanyfriends.Ourcommunitywillmisshim.
